Sadly, there is no city called "Airedale". A suburb of Castleford consisting of public housing, a more recent development than the dog, is named Airedale.
The name properly belongs to a large geographic area - the dale (valley) of the River Aire. It includes more than one community and a large part of the city of Bradford.
The Airedale (dog) is also known as the Waterside Terrier and a desirable trait is apparently hard, slightly wavy hair. Perhaps "Aire waves" or "Waterside waves"?
There is no end to knowledge. Apart from the letter "e" of course.

The Aire River must be part of a financial district. I looked it up and it said there are large banks on both sides of it.

Had an Airedale Terrier growing up.

Best dog we ever had!
Fearless and a fantastic watch dog!
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I missed pointing out that the coat on an Airedale (dog) is ideally one of "short waves". Long and medium wave are not desirable.

"Airwaves" are waves of air pressure, like sound waves, which are propagated through air. "Dialing a phone" is at least historically accurate, we used to dial phones, there is no similar justification for calling radio and television transmissions "airwaves".
