It is an enthusiastically pro-capitalism, pro-duopoloy party. There's not anything even remotely "leftist," let alone "extremist," about the party or ANY of its candidates.
The "extremists" in government are all on the GOP side, and they are determined to destroy what few protections the law currently provides against the ravages of the "free market," the greed of the 1 percent and the retrograde social policy of the religious right wrong.
This link and its comments accurately describes what I'm talking about.

Bernie Sanders is feminism's most famous national ally? Bull. Fucking. Shit.

Anybody out working now for the 2018 election is a party extremist. Knocking on doors two weeks before the election, primary or general, is important, but it also nearly always too late. INMNSHO, The last presidential campaign was lost by the dems, because they thought they knew just what was the really important stuff, concentrated on that and gave bare lip service to everything else.
Unhappily, it is very hard to figure out what will make a difference and what is just traditional ritual, until it is over. There is lots of wasted effort, but you don't know which is wasted and which is essential until way after the event. So smart party officials cultivate loyalty from everybody, from the bottom up.
