Is that the same open mind that believed a North Vietnamese general would have given credit to American peace activists for his army's victory?

Looks like I just won the argument, since with you in regard to me this is the same as Godwin's law

I don't remember anything about any vietnamese general specifically, I know you copied the posts, fine. I was wrong, mistaken, incorrect, whatever word you want to use. Move on with your life already.

So since according to you the "it was a joke" excuse justifies anything, you have won the argument. If you say so, can't argue with that logic :loon

Sure, if you say so. The ultra Christian was taking God's name in vain by making jokes about him visiting punishments on the populace.

Now she's chanelling Thatch!
Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is harkening to a former world leader known for her resolve - ex-British prime minister Margaret Thatcher - to convince American veterans she would make a strong commander in chief.

Bachmann shed led light on Thursday on her foreign policy views in a speech to an American Legion convention in her home state of Minnesota. US President Barack Obama addressed the convention earlier in the week.

She spoke of Thatcher's reputation for firm resolve, and pointed to the military campaign Thatcher waged against Argentina to regain control of the Falkland Islands in 1982. She also cited contemporary US president Ronald Reagan's confrontation of the Soviet Union and communism.

"It took two very strong leaders on the world stage, one a woman and one a man, to reverse the course of their respective countries," Bachmann said.

"We should heed the lessons that they hold for those who seek to wreak havoc on peace and on democracy across the world today."

Bachmann says the world needs to know America has a "strong leader" who won't "conduct our foreign policy apologetically, such as leading from behind".

To an intelligent person the recent comments of Rick Perry on global warming are 'obviously' jokes. Unfortunately the Republican base does not 'get' it. Just like they believe Bachmann and Pat Robertson when they say stupid things.

Things you couldn't make up, number 25372652838949...

Minnesota congresswoman and former US presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has withdrawn her Swiss citizenship.

The move comes two days after it was first reported that Mrs Bachmann, 55, acquired citizenship with her family.

Mrs Bachmann said she had decided to give up her new Swiss passport to prove she is a "proud American citizen".

The three-term Republican was eligible for dual citizenship through her husband, who is of Swiss descent, a spokeswoman said.

"I took this action because I want to make it perfectly clear: I was born in America and I am a proud American citizen," Mrs Bachmann said.

"I am, and always have been, 100% committed to our United States constitution and the United States of America."

Switzerland provides universal healthcare, a policy that Mrs Bachmann has strongly opposed.

Mrs Bachmann had been criticised for taking on a Swiss passport, which she applied for when some of her children wanted to become dual citizens.

Mrs Bachmann, who herself has Norwegian ancestry, would have been eligible for elected office in Switzerland.

If she has to drop her Swiss citizenship to prove her 100% commitment, then any point in time that she had the dual-citizenship would qualify as less than 100%.

Actually, I'm more interested in knowing the names of the people who would criticize a person for dual-citizenship. I'd love to hear their nutso ramblings on this issue.
