Ins and outs of the US economy
Re: Ins and outs of the US economy
I, post the stoopid/smart question: if the previous economy was so high; why are we in debt now?
Re: Ins and outs of the US economy
I responded to the topic albeit with asides.Scooter wrote:He did not "post personally". He directed a question about the topic to you ("you do not see this as a problem?") and you chose to interpret it as some kind of slur. Even after you chose to move into insult mode ("Try reading."), he ignored it and continued to speak to the topic.
You know very well that I was not one of the posters who chose to make you into a personal punching bag at the CSB, and that in fact I came to your defence on occasion when I saw it being completely underserved, so I hope you take it in the spirit in which it is intended when I ask that you dial it back; we do not need to relive the feuds of ancient history here if all parities truly do not want to. Read what people write as it is written and without dragging CSB baggage behind you, and this could be a fun and informative place to hang out. Otherwise, it will become a cesspool. Our choice.
He switched to purely personal insult post with no on-topic content when it was apparent that he had not been able to understand the statement he quoted (with insulting archness). He did so purely to avoid admitting that he did not understand and attacking the source was easier than admitting the truth.

Re: Ins and outs of the US economy
Actually, the only insults I saw was you calling Gob innumerate, then saying he posted 'snottily' and then calling him a 'hypocrit'.
Where do you get his personal insult from?
Where do you get his personal insult from?
Bah!

Re: Ins and outs of the US economy
Rubato, from the time you made your first post in this thread to the point where you pulled out the “innumerate”, Gob had only posted once.
These are his words:
First he quotes your source and notes:
1) How can the word innumerate even apply when there are no numbers in his questions?
2) Just what was “snottily”
3) What were the personal insults?
4) How was this not on topic?
5) Attacking the source (or debating with it) is what a discussion is all about. It’s the personal swipes that aren’t called for.
More importantly, I would like to add that like Scooter, I have frequently called to task people who immediately responded to your posts with insults. Back at the CSB, it was impossible to call for a truce because all sides were looking for an opportunity to “respond in kind”.
This is a new board. One created in part because the ever-increasing level of nastiness at the CSB was driving some of us away (others have their reasons).
So please, set the revenge meter back to zero, debate and discuss.
Like you do at Le Chat House.

Another quote, followed by:Does that not say that the "incremental";
purchaser of your nation's debt is the US itself?
Does that not indicate that the US is increasingly buying it's own debt, which is surely a unsustainable way of dealing with national debt.

A sufficiently copious dose of bombast drenched in verbose writing is lethal to the truth.
