Imagine this: Sue and I agree on 88% of the issues, and side with Jill Stein on over 90% of them. I sided with Mittens on 0%; Sue and Mittens got a 4%.
I know you're all shocked!

What I found most interesting is how little we agree with Romney. This isn't a dumb left-right/Dem-GOP kind of quiz, it asks some pretty specific policy questions and gives a selection of fairly nuanced answers, and allows you to weight the importance of the issue to you. The fact that we see so few issues the same way as the Republican nominee indicates to me the exremely wide gulf between respective visions of government and our country's role in the world.
GAH!

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Well. I got in and out in under 10 minutes...
My polling place had nine voting stations set up, there were only six people voting when I got there...

Well it's kick ass gorgeous out, (75 degrees and a nice gentle breeze) so we're going to pick up Tati from school, and take her and her brother and the pooches down to the beach for about an hour before settling in to start watching the returns....

The fun is starting!
Voting machine changes Obama to Romney
WASHINGTON: Computer problems, as well as human ones, have drawn complaints across the US as millions of Americans go to the polls.
One Pennsylvania voter highlighted a problem with voting machines on YouTube, complete with video, in which a touchscreen changed his choice from President Barack Obama to Republican Mitt Romney.
"I initially selected Obama but Romney was highlighted," the man wrote. "I assumed it was being picky so I deselected Romney and tried Obama again, this time more carefully, and still got Romney."
This was not the first allegation of foul-ups with electronic machines. In Ohio, some Republicans claimed machines were changing Romney votes to Obama, while Democrats accused Republican state officials of installing untested "experimental" software at the last minute.
To make matters worse in the crucial swing state, some voting machines were malfunctioning in parts of the Cleveland area, said the Plain Dealer, which quoted election officials as saying ballots would be counted even if scanning machines were down.
In New Jersey, a late decision to allow voters displaced by superstorm Sandy to cast ballots by email caused confusion and frustration.
"Oh no! email box for Essex County Clerk's box is full. No one can email in their ballots," said a tweet from one resident.

LOL!! I think that's unlikely, she obviously isn't aware of Kiwi politics.

Oh Mittens, why are you having your "party" in a state that is going to reject you by a two to one margin:
Private jets line up at Logan as Romney backers arrive in Boston for election night party

Private jets were streaming into Boston’s Logan International Airport Tuesday afternoon, officials said, as Mitt Romney’s well-heeled supporters arrived for his post-election party in the Seaport District.
Edward Freni, director of aviation for Logan, said an unusually large number of Gulfstream corporate jets were looking to park at the airport by late afternoon on election day. Logan had accommodated 80 of them by 4:30 p.m., roughly double the 40 to 50 it sees on a typical day, he said.
Freni said the staff was trying to “shoehorn these planes in,” making room for them to park after filling up the usual spaces for about 60 of the luxury, long-range 12-seaters. Once they hit 85, he said, any other arrivals will have to drop off their passengers and head to Hanscom Field in Bedford.
Freni compared the traffic to what he sees on busy college graduation weekends in Boston or for the Ryder Cup golf tournament in Brookline in 1999.
“It is a good amount for a Tuesday night in November,” he said.
The Romney campaign was planning a special reception Tuesday night at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center for the Republican candidate’s biggest financial backers. These members of Romney’s national finance committee are invited to gather in the “Green Room” before the speaking portion of the rally in the grand ballroom, according to a person invited to the event.
Romney’s invite-only election night celebration is expected to draw about 5,000 attendees.

U.S. news organizations agree not to announce exit polling while West Coast polls are still open. It was believed that this practice suppressed voter turnout in the western states since the election could be decided right after key states in the East were decided. However, what is to stop foreign news organizations from hiring the same exit pollsters so that they can scoop the story?
MY RESULTS
Jill Stein seems to be the voice of the people. She was my #1 candidate, too. Unfortunately, she had a voice suffering with laryngitis for most of this election cycle. Better luck next time, I suppose.

I went to my PA polling place at 10AM and there were two voters ahead of me. I was told I just missed the rush. I signed in at 193 -- not bad for my precinct at that hour. Obama was my choice, of course.
I then drove to my daughter's house in Medford NJ for my weekly noontime get-together and she requested that that we stop off at her polling place before lunch. She had been quite concerned about Romney's need to overturn Roe v. Wade further diminishing a woman's right to choose, and his interference with women's rights in general. Her sister also wanted to vote -- her first election -- and I gladly took her. They both voted for Obama and that buoyed my spirit. Oh, those kids! Where do they come up with such principled thoughts and actions? BTW -- there were only two voters waiting in this line but I was also told that the pace was brisk.
I am fairly confident that the incumbent will win this one.
