Precisely.

Loved Schill on the mound, but his politics and worldview are regressive, at best. And his rape of Rhode Island and its taxpayers, one of the most hypocritical actions I've ever seen.

Trump probably can't win Ohio, says state's governor, John Kasich

A "divider" like GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump will have a hard time winning Ohio, an important battleground that could help decide the election in November, said Buckeye State Gov. John Kasich, a former Republican presidential candidate.

"Ohio's a snapshot of the country. People in Ohio want to see a positive agenda, a positive way to move forward," Kasich said Friday in an interview at the Union League of Philadelphia. He attended a fund-raiser for Brian Fitzpatrick, a Bucks County Republican running for an open congressional seat.

Kasich's remarks came a day after Trump accepted the Republican Party's nomination at its convention in Cleveland. Kasich, who dropped out of the presidential primary campaign in May after Trump effectively clinched the nomination, did not attend the convention.

Here's a link to an interview Kasich did yesterday with MSNBC's Chris Jansing:

MSNBC Live 7/23/16
Kasich: ‘I take no joy’ in not endorsing Trump

Ohio Governor and former GOP presidential candidate, John Kasich, spoke to NBC’s Chris Jansing following the Republican National Convention to discuss why he did not attend and also comments on whether he will ever endorse Donald Trump for president. Duration: 3:23

What a thoughtful, grown-up, class act this guy is...

Especially when you contrast him with the feces flinging howler monkey who got the nomination...

This guy would have won easily, and he'd have been a very able President... what a blown opportunity for the party and a loss for the country.... :(

TRUMP IS SERIOUS!!!!!

Post by RayThom »

"Nero fiddled while Rome burned." Fatuous complacency will prove to be our ruin.

Drumpf is going to be elected the 45th POTUS and we Democrats are going to be standing around with our thumbs up our asses wondering what happened.

A poll from yesterday that Drumpf is sure to love: Q."Who do you trust?" 45-37 percent that DJT is more honest and trustworthy than HRC. The "poorly educated" obviously love Trump back.

Bend over and grab your ankles... incoming!!!

And that's why I say that despite the fact that there will be other candidates on the ballot — Libertarian, Green, Independent, or any of those single-issue parties like The Rent's Too Damn High Party; candidates who in any other year would be worth paying attention to — this election can best be likened to a showdown between the two biggest chip-holders in a Texas Hold'em game trying to KO the other.  And unless any of the little guys happen to be holding a royal flush (and I know damned well that ain't the case!) they'd be best to fold and sit on the sidelines while the two high rollers slug it out.  The stakes in this poker game/election — the possibility of Trump and his abhorrent amalgam of fearmongering, jingoism, racism, isolationism, egotism, and just plain ignorance winning the White House — are just too high.

Remember; this year, a vote for the Democrats speaks less about what you believe in and stand for, and more about what you *WILL NOT* believe in and *WILL NOT* stand up for.

F I N A L L Y ! ! !

SOMETHING  GOOD  THAT WE CAN HOLD DONALD TRUMP RESPONSIBLE FOR!!!

Berkeley Breathed announces he will resurrect "Bloom County"; cites Harper Lee and Donald Trump as inspirations.

From the article:
After the controversial publication of Lee’s "Go Set a Watchman" last summer, Breathed began thinking about how much the idyllic small-town setting of the book (and especially its 1962 film adaptation) had influenced the creation of Bloom County in the early ’80s.  That prompted him to dig up a fan letter Lee had sent to him as Bloom County was winding down, in which she wrote, “This is a plea from a dotty old lady, and from others not dotty at all.  Please don’t shut down Opus.  Can’t you at least give him a reprieve?”

“I remembered her connection to my stuff, and how I might have taken her—and maybe all of you—for granted when I stopped doing it,” Breathed told the crowd.  “I didn’t want to not take advantage of this extraordinary gift that artists get to develop an audience and a readership, and [to reach] people who believe in stuff that they make up. That was Harper Lee’s perspective.”
As for Trump's contribution:
“He is the reverse canary in America’s gilded gold mine: When Donald Trump gets up from the dead and starts singing, you know you’ve reached toxic air,” Breathed said.  “He signifies something that I didn’t want to be left out of … we are on the cusp of a sea change, and we’re all gonna be synthesizing and filtering and making it somehow make sense to us.”
(Still, don’t look for too many more Trump jokes in the weeks and months to follow: “I think he’ll be gone fairly soon.  He’ll be gone within a week or two of getting into the White House, because he has no interest in working that hard.”)
I just hope he's wrong about Trump getting into the White House.  Even if Trump would abdicate power to his second banana and the Congress, four years of Republican policy as displayed in Cleveland this past week is likely to send this country into a tailspin it would take years if not decades to recover from.

He is also on gocomics.com, but at least a week behind.

Dismayed by Donald Trump, Michael Bloomberg Will Endorse Hillary Clinton

By ALEXANDER BURNS
JULY 24, 2016

Michael R. Bloomberg, who bypassed his own run for the presidency this election cycle, will endorse Hillary Clinton in a prime-time address at the Democratic convention and make the case for Mrs. Clinton as the best choice for moderate voters in 2016, an adviser to Mr. Bloomberg said.

The news is an unexpected move from Mr. Bloomberg, who has not been a member of the Democratic Party since 2000; was elected the mayor of New York City as a Republican; and later became an independent.

But it reflects Mr. Bloomberg’s increasing dismay about the rise of Donald J. Trump and a determination to see that the Republican nominee is defeated.

Mrs. Clinton is seeking to reach out to middle-of-the-road swing voters and even moderate Republicans uneasy about Mr. Trump. Polls show that significant numbers of Republicans remain wary of Mr. Trump, and question his fitness for the presidency.

Mr. Bloomberg will vouch for Mrs. Clinton “from the perspective of a business leader and an independent,” said Howard Wolfson, a senior adviser to Mr. Bloomberg.

I absolutely hate when people post 'charts' like that without bothering to format the text. It's frustrating, unreadable and a waste of time.

Sorry Meade, rubato does it all the time too and I just finally reached my rant point! :arg
