Well, now we know what the Trump "pivot" is going to be; he's going to pivot to All Toxic/Crazy All The Time...
In Trump's insane, delusional view, (no doubt driven by his narcissistic personality disorder) the reason for his steady drop in the polls hasn't been because of his attacking a Gold Star mother, or his attacks on respected Republicans, or his implying that a way to prevent unwanted judicial nominees would be to shoot them, or his attempts to portray Obama as sympathetic to terrorists, or his admiration for Vladimir Putin, or his disdain for NATO and other fundamental US alliances...
Nay nay not a bit of it...
No, Drumpf believes that it has been his occasional sporadic attempts to try appear to be a more rational, thoughtful, and responsible human being that have been bringing down his numbers...
So he's determined not to do that anymore... No more Mr. Nice Guy...
He has now abandoned any pretense of trying to unify the party or broaden his appeal. Which of course is fantastic news for Team Clinton, who will now be able to solidify their support among anti-Trump Republicans and anti-Trump Republican-leaning independents. (Which are the votes she needs to achieve a genuine landslide rather than just a narrow victory.)
Trump's "strategy" (such as it is) appears to be try to overcome his deficit in the polls by whipping his hardcore Trumpanzee/Alt Right base into such a frenzy that they will vote in percentages high enough to overcome their large overall numerical disadvantage...
The problem with this approach is even if the maybe 1/3 of the electorate that is the hardcore Pro-Trump/Never Hillary votes at an 80% turn out rate (it's tough to know exactly what the absolute floor for Trump support is since it keeps dropping, but a lot of recent polls putting him in the 30s suggests that 33% is a pretty good educated guess) while the the other 2/3 of the electorate only turns out at about 55%, (an average turnout for recent Presidential elections) he still loses...
More here:Trump Staff Shift Elevates GOP Leaders' Archenemy
Donald Trump’s shake up of his campaign staff on Wednesday has further spotlighted the tensions between party officials and their presidential nominee, elevating an archenemy of Republican leaders to the top of the business mogul’s campaign.
In hiring Breitbart News chief Stephen Bannon as chief executive of his campaign, Trump has plainly rejected calls within the party to temper his controversial approach in order to broaden support in the general election. With Bannon, Trump is instead embracing the tactics, style and nationalist/populist themes that propelled him to victory in the primaries.
And his hiring will likely add fresh context and urgency to the question of whether the party should shift resources away from the presidential race to down-ballot contests.
If Manafort sought to push Trump toward moderating his message and tone, and accepting a more traditional campaign model, Bannon’s hire starkly reflects Trump’s desire to do the opposite. Under Manafort, there was some hope among many Republicans that Trump would try to unify the party and reach out to undecided voters; Bannon, meanwhile, has oriented his career around speaking directly and exclusively to the conservative base.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2 ... -hire.htmlAlt Right Rejoices at Donald Trump’s Steve Bannon Hire
Donald Trump’s campaign is under new management—and his white nationalist fanboys love it.
The campaign’s new chief executive, Stephen Bannon, joins from Breitbart News—where he helped mainstream the ideas of white nationalists and resuscitate the reputations of anti-immigrant fear-mongers.
White nationalists today invest a lot of energy worrying about growing Hispanic and Muslim populations in the U.S. Turns out, Breitbart News spends a lot of time worrying about those things, too. And in Bannon, they see a media-friendly, ethno-nationalist fellow traveler.
Latterly, Breitbart emerged as a nationalist site and done great stuff on immigration in particular,” VDARE.com editor Peter Brimelow told The Daily Beast.
VDare is a white supremacist site. It’s named after Virginia Dare, the first white child born to British colonists in North America. Brimelow said he and Bannon met briefly last month and exchanged pleasantries about each other’s work.
“It’s irritating because VDARE.com is not used to competition,” Brimelow added. “I presume that is due to Bannon, so his appointment is great news.”
Brimelow isn’t the only prominent white nationalist to praise the Bannon hire. Richard Spencer, who heads the white supremacist think tank National Policy Institute, said he was also pleased. Under Bannon’s leadership, Breitbart has given favorable coverage to the white supremacist Alt Right movement. And Spencer loves it.
“Breitbart has elective affinities with the Alt Right, and the Alt Right has clearly influenced Breitbart,” he said. “In this way, Breitbart has acted as a ‘gateway’ to Alt Right ideas and writers. I don’t think it has done this deliberately; again, it’s a matter of elective affinities.”
Spencer said Breitbart and Bannon have helped Alt Right ideas gain legitimacy—and, more importantly, exponentially expand their audiences. He cited the work of Milo Yiannopoulos as evidence of this.
“As is evident with Milo’s piece on the Alt Right, Breitbart has people on board who take us seriously, even if they are not Alt Right themselves.”
Yiannopoulos wrote a piece on March 29, 2016, about the Alt Right, praising its members as “dangerously bright,” and cheering the VDARE and American Renaissance sites as an “eclectic mix of renegades.” American Renaissance is helmed by Jared Taylor, who advocates for voluntary racial segregation and says African Americans are genetically predisposed to be criminals.
Yiannopoulos defended Brimelow and Taylor by saying they “don’t want to commit any pogroms,”[Gee, that's mighty white of them...]which is… not a very comforting sentiment.
Reached for comment, Yiannopoulos referred The Daily Beast to Breitbart editor-in-chief Alexander Marlow. He has not returned a request for comment.

I want to hear more about how Trump is going to sweep New England, New York and the mid-Atlantic states.
And how he's going to win the black vote:
http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/08/14/p ... nald-trumpPoll: Only 1% of African Americans Support Trump
A new Fox News poll found that just one percent of African Americans support Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, got 85 percent of the African American vote, while Gary Johnson got seven percent.
Eboni Williams and Ashley Bell joined Tucker Carlson on "Fox and Friends Weekend" to weigh in on what this poll might mean for the Trump campaign.
BTW, that's the second recent poll finding Trump at 1% support among African Americans; An NBC/WSJ poll earlier this month found the same thing...
And I'd also like to get an update on how Trump is going to win the Hispanic vote:
http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/politi ... hispanics/Fox News Latino poll: Clinton holds 46-point lead over Trump among Hispanics
By Andrew O'Reilly Published August 11, 2016 Fox News Latino
With less than four months to go before Election Day, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton holds a commanding 46-point lead over her Republican rival Donald Trump among Hispanic voters, according to an exclusive poll released Thursday by Fox News Latino.
The poll found that 66 percent of registered Latinos would head to the ballot box to vote for Clinton and her running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, compared to only 20 percent who would pick the ticket of Trump and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.
The gap between the two candidates widened 7 percent since May, when Clinton held a 39-point edge among Hispanics.
“The results are not that surprising given the reaction of Latinos to some of Trump’s proposals,” Alfonso Aguilar, the executive director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, told Fox News Latino.

That Trump may be the first Republican since Gerald Ford to lose South Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi?Eboni Williams and Ashley Bell joined Tucker Carlson on "Fox and Friends Weekend" to weigh in on what this poll might mean for the Trump campaign.

just a random thought...
I have not seen one Hillary yard sign..., not a single solitary one......
.....also , that kellyanne Conway is one sharp cookie. of all the pundits and operatives and pollsters and surrogates that I have seen during this cycle she is perhaps the most intelligent and impressive one of the whole bunch.
ed rollins may give her a run for her money, and lou dobbs is one pretty bright bulb on the tree of life, but trump choosing Conway to lead his campaign is the perfect choice , in my opinion.
she is a formidable intellectual force. if a butterfly flaps its wings in brazil, she feels the breeze. she is plugged in.
scooter, it was made pretty clear to me that a majority of the major contributers to this forum had consolidated into a " # (hashtag) Never Wes" block, and viewed me as a detriment to the site.
I was obviously ruining the the pleasure that they enjoyed as a result of their participation in this forum.
I derived no pleasure from upsetting a longstanding group of friends.
I enjoyed the sight because....
1) I was welcomed
2) I was able to have intelligent discussions with bright people who cared about important and complicated issues
3) I learned things
4) I enjoyed the sharing of personal pleasures and experiences with the other members..., (gob s photography, and my garden for examples....)
because of my own actions, and the actions of others, the political debates and discussions devolved into little more than ad hominem attacks , personal insults and purposeful attempts to be hurtful.
intelligent and honest and respectful debate and argument became rare and almost impossible in the environment that resulted from our actions.
it was not enjoyable for me, or, I think, for the other members.
I am sorry for the part I played in the devolution of reason and respect in this forum.
.....and scooter...., you just hide and watch how the 13 colonies vote. I think that you will be shocked on nov. 9th.
....and trump has just begun his well prepared and predicted pitch to black America. I ve been waiting for it....
trump at the Apollo....., wouldn t that (italics) be somethin' to see,,,,,
on the brighter side I ve seen a doctor for the first time in almost two years!!!!
to make a long story short...., a medical situation caused me to seek emergency care, a really good doctor, and casual acquaintance, who s daughter is a classmate of my daughter, treated me .
she set me up with a REALLY good family practice (this morning was my first visit !) and got the ball rolling with referrals to the top local neck surgeon and his orthopedic practice.
I also got a referral and am hopefully going to re establish my relation ship with the surgeon who removed my lung. and be able to address the issues that have developed
in that area
....and, fingers crossed, I was referred and made contact with my former pain management doctor and hopefully I will be able to resume my x ray spinal injections of whatever steroid they use.
they need to talk to the doctor to see if he will accept me again. I made it clear that I want NO narcotics, only the injections, which extremely effective for me.
I will never become dependent on opiates again, the methadone withdrawal almost killed me, and im not going to stop smoking pot anyway (unless edible marijuana becomes available here) I have chores to do whether I m hurting or not and Mary Jane helps me to "git 'er done"
right and wrong is a grey area sometimes....
generally if I feel guilty about something I do if it s wrong, and I don t feel guilty about using pot the way that I use it so....
I don t want to forget the most important part
of late I have been coming back to my lord, I have been kind and helpfulto my neighbors in certain wys that they needed at the time, I have been prying and humbling myself before jesus. I have professed my weakness and inability to to do things I needed to do on my own. I haved prayed for myself and for the lord to supplement me and to somehow enable me and allow me to overcome my weakness of mind and my fears that have prevented me from doing the necessary things I have to do.
I often pray for others, but seldom for myself. maybe, just maybe, I m worth praying for too....
deserving or not jesus was there for me again, just as he was when I first learned who and what he really was. just as he was when my world collapsed and I was broken and he restored and re built me from the ruins of my broken life and my broken soul.
I had a good day and I am glad that I decided to tell you all the good news.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I read only the first sentence and will reply thusly:
The DELMARVA is in the bag for Clinton, handily. Have you seen the polling data for your neighborhood? Yard signs go up everywhere but MUCH more prominently in battleground states. The DELMARVA Democrats probably don't feel the need for yard signs as those in contested states do.
eta: To clarify, those states are in the bag due to other areas, but that means you're along for the ride, along with all your chump friends.

Bad thing about yard signs, you realize how much stupid you're surrounded by. Going through the last election in Montana - I wasn't running, but watched my friends' campaigns - was something that made me start to feel really uneasy about staying there. We had some pretty ignorant and radically anti-intellectual and anti-government types on the ballot and realizing your neighbors are THAT backward is like

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I have a political t-shirt that is about ten years old and I have been wearing it frequently lately. First of all it has been so hot that I have actually been wearing a t-shirt and shorts and sandals most of the time. As an old geezer that is a costume I prefer to wear only while camping.
The t-shirt has an eagle holding a banner that says "Vote Whig. They could not do worse." I am with Bosox on the yard signs. I have seen only one presidential yard sign around here. It is black and only says TRUMP. But it is also not in the yard--it is displayed in a window. The primary for state and county offices here in Delaware is due in about three weeks. Not many yard signs for that either, but the larger signs are starting to appear at major intersections. Particularly in the contest for Dem for Congress. Current single Delaware Congressman is running for Governor and there is a strong contest to replace him in Washington.
I have been out here in Delaware for about 40 years and I have often wondered why anybody runs for congress here. It takes a state-wide effort, just like for Senator, but you have to do it three times as often. There is a strong tradition that the incumbent (like Senator Biden, or the late Senator Roth) stays in office once they get it. The GOP blew this all in a primary where the incumbent was a good-for-Delaware moderate and would easily win the general election. The hard-core GOP defeated him in the primary with a carpet-bagger who had a stinkoo personal finance record, never ran for more than school board anywhere, was proud to be an Wicca witch. The Dems had put up a sacrificial lamb just to fill the ticket against the incumbent GOP. The witch won the primary and the GOP proudly preserved their solid no-compromise principles and the Washington delegation from Delaware became all Democrat and is likely to stay that way. Delaware is a state where most of the time party affiliation has been secondary and the individual candidate is far more important. The 'new' GOP has changed that.
