Re: trump is serious!!!!!
poiuyt is a new word for me. I am familiar with pictures of this device, but I am puzzled by the article in Wikipedia (headlined Impossible Trivet) that states it is also properly called a 'blivet' and cites various written examples.
I have always heard 'blivet' defined as the tool that is used to put 10 pounds of shit into a 5 pound bag. This is a very old technology, based on the former classification of ordinary brown paper bags. They had a little number printed near top open edge. This number indicated the weight of ordinary granulated sugar that the bag could be expected to hold. However, I have never seen picture depicting such a tool.

Eight more days, wes. Then we'll see, on November 9th, if you support lost causes.wesw wrote:I don t hold grudges..., much.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
BB, whatever happens to trump, my views are likely to remain the same. from the beginning , almost, I have repeatedly said that trump is just a vehicle. he frames it as "messenger", but it means the same thing.
I have held my views long before trump raised his voice , and I suspect that I will hold them until my death.
my death is likely the only thing that will stop my defense of liberty and my support for the founding documents and founding ideals of America.
the constitution and declaration set us all free..., eventually.....
I kept waiting for trump to make his pitch to black folks..., waiting waiting waiting....
he timed it perfectly and has hit it everyday since.....
if he wants more female support he needs to hit common core every friggin' day too.... (and he does, but not forcefully enough)
common core common core common core!!!!!!
there was a solution for the dems, and possibly there still is, but I won t reveal it here...., yet..., the walls have ears...
vote early...
vote often...

TRUMP IS SERIOUS!!!!!
I am now treating this election as if I were an early voter. My mind was made up months ago and (Crooked) Hillary -- and all down-ballot Democrats -- were chosen by me. Anything that Drumpf can say or do at this point will be lost and/or ignored. On November 8th I'm merely going to the polls to finalize what I need to do in order to maintain America's greatness.wesw wrote:ok guys... just watch one trump speech... watch the one coming today , in Michigan I think, today... wes
Kaine / Warren... 2020.

I'm a rabid politics coverage viewer and thanks to ALL the idiot networks giving him billions in free coverage, I've seen several of his speeches. Anybody with half a brain or half a heart isn't going to be swayed by a lengthy diatribe of hate followed by empty 'policy' promises with nonsensical 'information' about how those lies would be implemented.
Wesw I continue to be convinced there IS a shred of decency in you, but honestly cannot believe how any decent person can support this despicable excuse for a human being for ANY role in public life.
Please don't insult the rest of us here by assuming that we just haven't paid attention closely enough to see him as the great man that you do. Don't be THAT ignorant.

8 more awful days. Well, we get a bit of a ghoulish diversion, that has less horror than reality, for the next few hours. Thankful for small favors.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
BSG--I have a friend whose opinions I generally respect who is voting for Trump. When we discuss it, he says his reasoning is that he is disgusted with Washington and the status quo has to be torn down. He thinks electing Trump will give others with real alternative ideas the impetus to try and implement them, while he also thinks Trump is far too inept to get anything don or do any real damage (that's where he and I differ the most--while I agree with him about what Trump could likely do, it scares me what he just might do). I think it comes down to his belief that the message of change is far bigger than Trump, and electing an imbecile (his words) might show the establishment just how dedicated these people are. I wouldn't be surpriosed if this made up a significant percentage of Trump voters.

Big RR -- The trouble with that line of thinking is that there are plenty of other deplorable
Republicans in Congress who will take advantage of a President who neither knows nor cares enough to stop them from doing whatever they want. The destruction and replacement of a political system rarely ends well.
My own little brother, who moved to Atlanta and became a Tea Party conservative, will be voting for Trump. He seems to be motivated mostly by a deep and unshakable fear and loathing of Hillary. For the sake of my own mental health I now have to avoid reading anything he posts on Facebook. (But I still have some hope that his wife might well cast a vote that will counteract his...)

Agreed. But since 2008 they do seem to have achieved a majority of those in that category. IMHO.oldr_n_wsr wrote:Republicans do not have a strangle-hold on deplorable congressional members.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Perhaps, but I honestly think Trump would not be so easily manipulated--you just can't tell what he'd do (which is why I think he'd be impeached and removed from office within the first year if he were elected), not do I think the republicans would have enough of a majority in both houses to do that (not all repubs would play that game). The trouble with that line of thinking is that there are plenty of other deplorableRepublicans in Congress who will take advantage of a President who neither knows nor cares enough to stop them from doing whatever they want.
That's the same conclusion I came to years ago.The destruction and replacement of a political system rarely ends well

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
To be clear, I wasn't referring to the Republican Congress going along with Trump so much as Trump going along with the Republican Congress. (And it's impossible to imagine a scenario in which he wins the Presidency, where the R's don't also keep control of both houses.) It's not a matter of Trump being "manipulated" but rather a matter of Trump having shown with everything he has done so far in his life that the only thing he really cares about is his own miserable little self. Congress might well do a lot of things that would disadvantage women or minorities, but all indications are that as long as these things didn't disadvantage the Great Trumpkin personally, he wouldn't care a bit.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
True--but as soon as he gets in, thin-skinned Donald would get into fights with those who didn't support him (and even some who did)--he just can't help it. And that would lead to wars with Congress. If the rebus can't get along with dems who really do try to reach a common ground compromise (and there are some who try this), what do you think with happen with a narcissist in the WH?
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
There are plenty of Trump supporters who are Trump supporters for exactly this reason. And wow, I think my wife is more serious than I thought...she has asked to use my Vic to bring voters to the polls on election day. (Neither of her vehicles is practical.) Considering that neither of my rear doors open from inside...well, it could be entertaining, at least.
