Way back in the middle of the last century I was sitting in a class room for Combat Engineers dealing with 'Barrier and Denial Operations' other wise called laying mine fields. We were told these things were intended as funnel devices--to make it easier for the enemy to go someplace else where conditions were better to stop him.

Now it is indicated to me by the story linked above, that Trump's Wall is just that, intended to direct bad hombres and smuggled goods into the country by other means, namely by sea and air. President Trump seems to hold that sea and air can be intercepted and guarded much more cheaply than the Southern land border.

But cutting FEMA is the big joker. Have his advisers already forgotten "Heckofajob Brownie" and the wonderful success of the Corp of Engineers on the lower Mississippi?
