trump is serious!!!!!
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Yeah...
Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Marco Rubio...
Even Ted friggin' Cruz...
Would have been an improvement over this embarrassing, toxic, piece of garbage who we now refer to as "Mr. President"...
We cannot see the back of him soon enough...

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I'm still hoping for his imminent impeachment.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Which is why I have such a strong attitude about Putingate...
He'll never be driven from Office just for being a coarse and embarrassing liar and oaf, unfit for the Presidency...
But if it can be proven that he acted in collusion with a hostile foreign power to gain The Presidency, we might be able to be rid of him...

I'd even prefer Jimmy Carter...

Now there's something I never thought I would hear.

It's something I never thought I would say...oldr_n_wsr wrote:Now there's something I never thought I would hear.
Never in a million years...
But then I never thought I would be facing the reality of a creature as vile as Trump in the White House...
Believe me, I don't say that because my opinion of Carter has improved even one scintilla...
I stand by every single thing I've ever said about him...
It's all about Trump...
Being "preferable to Donald Trump" is about the lowest bar imaginable...

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I agree Jim; I'd prefer W, even Cheney to Trump, and Cheney is a very low bar indeed.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
At least Cheney knew how to use leaks and get his subordinates to throw themselves on their sword for him.
snailgate.
snailgate.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I dunno about Cheney - that fucker is evil incarnate. Trump is at very least incompetent at his attempts to be evil.

No, you're right - Putin is not his lord and master.
Lucifer is!
Seriously, Cheney's already been President once and the damage he did while enriching himself and his war profiteering cronies is something your great-grandchildren will still be dealing with in their time. No more Cheney, please.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Or maybe he was just better at covering his tracks. That might explain a lot.At least Dick Cheney was not a Russian agent of influence. .
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Evil at least is more predictable than stupid. Combining the two is absolutely disastrous.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
*You* may refer to his as Mr. President, I still prefer "Trumpanzee" or, if required to acknowledge the office, "45" or "the one whole stole the Presidency." I'm open to other suggestions, too.Lord Jim wrote:Yeah...

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I made a conscious decision not to engage in the sort of juvenile name-calling the Republicans engaged in with Obama (and, for that matter, with Clinton--both Clintons). Even with GWBush, the only nicknames I ever used were "Dubya" (which was, I believe, a nickname that his own friends used) or "Shrub" (I believe it was the late, great Molly Ivins who came up with--or at least popularized--that one)...and Bush was a special case, since there were two of them.
I don't know if I'll be able to stick with it, but my plan is to always refer to him as just plain "Trump"...and in any context where it becomes necessary to use the title of the office he occupies, I will always put the word "President" in quotes. (I also like Charlie Pierce's practice of, when using the title, always (a) using a lower-case "p" and (b) always placing an asterisk after the word.)

I like "idiot in chief" or "asshole in chief", but we could use "pretender to the presidency".
