Re: trump is serious!!!!!
It is not unusual for a group of English Lit majors to sit around and have and enjoyable discussion about 'the Great American Novel'. Agreement is rarely reached, on just what the label means, let alone what work deserves it. But The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is always included in the discussion.
After watching Steven Cobert last night and wondering how they had spoofed the video of Trump's speech in Ohio Monday, where he did not mention the Dow Dump at all, even though his topic was national economy and he had been briefed about it on the plane. I could not believe he said not clapping for him at the State of The Union Address was treason.
This morning I checked out the NY Times and found this story:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/05/us/p ... odayspaper
He really did say it.
The Washington Post had many headlines posted about this. Me, I had a 'Huck Finn' epiphany. Huck Finn decided he would go to hell rather than tell the truth about his friend Jim. I have decided to be a traitor and never applaud the present POTUS.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
People get their hackles up at the Hitler comparisons, but seriously, not clapping when he speaks makes someone a traitor? How much fucking more do people need to recognize that that guy would make himself a dictator if it were within his reach?

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Some people want a dictator ( a dictator that beloved evything they do and would make the world a paradise)
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Particularly interesting when this POTUS says he has never done anything for which he would ask forgiveness.

Also too, someone needs to let Joe Wilson know. If you can equate "not applauding when the POTUS wants" with "treason" what do you call yelling "YOU LIE!" at the POTUS while he's addressing a joint session of Congress? (For that matter, what do you call it when you not only call the POTUS a non-citizen, but you also don't accept the official records of one of the States of the Union as proof that the POTUS was born in the United States?)
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Everything there looks accurate except maybe for that last sentence...
