I too have been a poll watcher. One of the traditional duties was to keep track of who voted. The old technology was a shoe box full of 3x5 cards for each individual voter for that polling place, registered in your party. And an official list of the registered voters on a separate paper. (That is public record you know.) As each voter voted, and official at the booth would announce in a clear voice, "John Jones has voted." At that time Iwould look up that name in my shoe box. If it was there, I would pull it out and put it in another box. Periodically some one would take the box out to where somebody else would review it and try to urge those who had not voted to do so, then the box would be brought back in to the party observer. During breaks in the voter activity, I would check the paper list to pull out cards for those who voted while the box of cards was out.

The real purpose of the observer is to get the votes out for your party.

Now that is probably done more efficiently with smart phone ap.

Won't work for those of us who don't "do" apps.

Dear Mr. Trump,

I have a question about these images in the recent email you sent me to provide evidence of how you will match my contribution:

Now I would never question your sincerity or honesty Donald, (May I call you Donald? I hear from you and your lovely family so often, I really feel like we're friends) but the way that looks to me, is that you are signing checks from the "Trump Make America Great Again Committee", (based on the logo on the check) and then making them payable to the "Trump Make America Great Again Committee" ...

I'm sure there's a perfectly innocent explanation for this, and that you aren't just making the "matching" payments to your campaign committee out of your campaign funds, because I'm know that's not the kind of shady thing you'd ever do.

Please get back to me about this, and I'll be ready to whip out my credit card.

Here's to making America great again,

Lord Jim

James,

Want to grab a cup of coffee with me?

In our busy lives, it’s important to take a moment to unwind and catch up with friends over a cup of coffee or tea.

I’d love to treat you to coffee here at campaign headquarters at Trump Tower.

With a campaign contribution of $3, you will automatically be entered to win a chance for a coffee break with me here in New York City.

We can discuss campaign strategy, compare notes about juggling work and family life, and whatever else you’d like to chat about.

So I hope you will enter today for a chance to grab coffee with me here in New York City at campaign headquarters at Trump Tower.

Contribute $3 today to automatically enter and let’s get coffee together!

Hope to see you soon!

Once again I was able to find way down in the very light teeny tiny print, a link for entering the contest without making a contribution....

Wow, coffee with Ivanka, followed by lunch with Junior, and then dinner with The Donald himself...

Sounds like I've got a full day lined up.... :ok

I entered, too. Who can pass up such an offer? I used my hoity-toity, 1%'er pseudonym, "Berkshire Hathaway," so I'm sure to get a call from The Donald's best daughter.

So what questions do you want me to ask at our face-to-face? Other than "just how big are your father's hands" or "are they your real boobs," I got nothing.

Politics make me woozy.

Jim,

I recorded this video to let you know about a contest I’m holding for two lucky supporters.

I’ll fly you out to New York City, put you up at a hotel, and meet you for coffee here at our campaign HQ in Trump Tower.

You can watch my video message for you here. >>

Contribute $3 to automatically enter for your chance to win.

Thanks,

You can imagine my disappointment when I saw the video...

Fund raising must be not quite up to snuff at Making America Great Again HQ...

I was getting a begging bowl email every few days, but the past couple of weeks they've been coming much more frequently...

Just this morning I've had three (one trying to get me to buy an over-priced tee shirt, yet another double your contribution missive, and another one focusing on what a bang-up job His Trumpness did at the C-i-C forum...)

LJ, at least you get emails/invites from Ivanka, I get them from Eric. Wanna trade?
Don't know how I got on the list, I am not a member of any party.

Trump has started snail-mailing my wife. Serves her right for registering as a Republican for the Ohio primary. I registered as Demonrat, voted for Bernie and am now very angry that Hillary cheated my candidate! I may stamp my foot

I get them from the whole Hee Haw gang...

Ivanka, Eric, Junior, The Donald Himself...

I also got one from Katrina "Obama invaded Afghanistan" Pierson, and even Newt has been on my case to pony up to Make America Great Again...
Hope you win the lunch, Jim ...
Alas, someone else scored that one...

I got an email from the winner, Gina...

Here's the picture she included:

Image

I believe that may be good 'ol Reince Priebus standing on the end there...

(That would make sense since the RNC is splitting the money on these fundraising emails...that's how Trump got my email address in the first place...)

So while I'm SOL on the lunch with Eric, I'm still in the running for coffee with Ivanka and dinner with Amnesty Don...

To be honest, I'm a little concerned about winning the dinner...

I'm afraid Donald will say he forgot his wallet, tell me he'll reimburse me for the tab, and then never send me his check... :?

A nasty one involving visible parasites or pus.

Charlie Pierce routinely refers to him as "obvious anagram Reince Priebus".
