Of course Michelle Bachmann continues the tried and true "lie loudly and backtrack softly" technique used by so many politicians nowadays.

That claim immediately drew a barrage of criticism from the medical profession and even from Bachmann sympathisers on the right, forcing her to backtrack slightly. She told a conservative talkshow: "I have no idea. I am not a doctor, I'm not a scientist, I'm not a physician. All I was doing is reporting what this woman told me at the debate."

Mrs Bachmann said that when she said the vaccine against the human papillomavirus (HPV) could cause ''mental retardation'', she was merely repeating what someone else had told her.

By "best predictor" worldwide, I mean that married women comprise the largest demographic among all persons who are HIV+ worldwide. That statement does not become false just because married women may not be the largest demographic among HIV cases in any particular country or countries.

I didn't say it was false, I'm suggested it was a misleading red herring, when all posts prior to your statement were regarding America [USA], including dsg49's take on HIV/AIDS in America, and suddenly you brought up the Global stats, that applied primarily to Africa. Yes, I brought up global stats. That's why I clearly identified them as global stats the very first time I made reference to them, and on every subsequent occasion. If that was your objection, you need only have raised it at the outset rather than repeatedly challenging my statements on the basis of things I clearly did NOT say, and none of this would have been necessary.
