I have no idea.
That certainly sums up Michelle Bachmann quite well. Perhaps she should use it as her campaign slogan.

Grim Reaper wrote:Of course Michelle Bachmann continues the tried and true "lie loudly and backtrack softly" technique used by so many politicians nowadays.
the guardian wrote:That claim immediately drew a barrage of criticism from the medical profession and even from Bachmann sympathisers on the right, forcing her to backtrack slightly. She told a conservative talkshow: "I have no idea. I am not a doctor, I'm not a scientist, I'm not a physician. All I was doing is reporting what this woman told me at the debate."
Mrs Bachmann said that when she said the vaccine against the human papillomavirus (HPV) could cause ''mental retardation'', she was merely repeating what someone else had told her.

She then went on to say; "Adolph Hitler wasn't as bad as he's been painted, all black men have big dicks, and homosexuals want to be able to marry so that they can force your children to be gay," and that it was true cos she read it on the interwebs.

Bachmann has a history of "pants on fire" lies. But then so do all of the Repuglican front-runners.

It is the best predictor of the worldwide epidemic. I said nothing about it being the best predictor of the epidemic in any particular country or countries.

Actually none of the four or more (I have lost count) versions of your responses to what I said represents any sort of agreement with my statements. Not even when you insist on attributing to me words which I did not say, as you have just done.

I accept your apology for so brazenly doctoring a quote to make it look like I said something I never did.

Well I'm only seeing one side of this (which BTW makes it very funny) but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Scoot's post was not regarding an actual, real apology.

Do I win?
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

If you weren't such a total pussy you would see the whole thing and not need to be an asshole.

"not need" being a conditional based on you not being a total fuck.

Highly speculative.

I'll take your answer in the form of a question;

These words:
small segment of the population, become the the best predictor?
were not mine.

So once again I accept your apology for putting them in a quote box with my name attached to them when I said no such thing.

And in your latest post these words:
Need you apologize for pointing out my quote?
were not mine.

So I accept your apology for this latest "mistake" in putting words in a quote box and attaching my name to them when I said no such thing.

By "best predictor" worldwide, I mean that married women comprise the largest demographic among all persons who are HIV+ worldwide. That statement does not become false just because married women may not be the largest demographic among HIV cases in any particular country or countries.

I didn't say it was false, I'm suggested it was a misleading red herring, when all posts prior to your statement were regarding America [USA], including dsg49's take on HIV/AIDS in America, and suddenly you brought up the Global stats, that applied primarily to Africa. My point to you, was not an apology, but that you had drifted off topic ... a bit much.

Yes, I brought up global stats. That's why I clearly identified them as global stats the very first time I made reference to them, and on every subsequent occasion. If that was your objection, you need only have raised it at the outset rather than repeatedly challenging my statements on the basis of things I clearly did NOT say, and none of this would have been necessary. Instead, you insisted on putting words in my mouth to make up for your failure to read what I actually wrote, and here we are, at the umpteenth episode of The Loca Show.

And once again I accept your apology for attributing these words:
small segment of the population, become the the best predictor?
and these words
Need you apologize for pointing out my quote?
to me by putting them in a quote box and attaching my name to them when I said no such thing.

I only bothered to address you at all because this happens to be a topic in which I am obviously personally invested, and you appeared to be taking the discussion seriously, at least at first. Once again, my tendency to overestimate people came back to bite me on the ass by getting me dragged into more of your drama.

I guess some people really are beyond any hope of changing for the better.

And by all means, go ahead and have the last word, because we all know it would break some commandment if you weren't able to end the discussion with yet another version of your warped rendition of what has transpired.
