I stopped dealing with Quad for exactly that reason (I said so at the time) back on the CSB, (I never engaged in attacks on LoCa; in fact I probably defended her far beyond the time it was justified) and for nearly two years on this board I didn't respond to anything you said, unless it was quoted by someone else....

Because I thought it was too easy....

I ultimately abandoned that approach because a couple of posters, (who were rising to your defense) convinced me that my failure to engage you was leaving some folks with the erroneous impression that you were somehow a "victim"...

I haven't confronted and ridiculed you because you have said mindbogglingly ignorant things...(like, "the British have had a 4th rate navy since the American Revolution", "The Poles weren't victims of the Nazis", "There was no genocide before Christianity", etc, etc, etc.,)

If I did that, then I would be a bully....

After that response, I said I would never make this offer again....

One of the greatest advancements in mankinds history is being able to control fire. It is the basis for everything we have. Heat, electricity (more impartant today than just about anything else as Sandy victims will attest to). Be it burning woood, coal, oil, the world will not "go 'round" without burning fuel.

I have no doubt that coal fired power plants can be made to burn the coal much much cleaner than current plants do. And I think that it can be done at a cheaper price per KWH than any "green" technology as long as the playing field is level, that is gov subsidies to the greenies, who end up out of business anyway or slapping emmission standards on plants where it would close down electricity producion to the deteriment of society.

Yes we should clean coal plants up. Yes we should promote green technology, and yes we should explore more nuclear technology.
I believe LordJim promoted this stance a year or two (maybe more) ago. But to cut off one (or more) way to generate electricity just makes the remaining ways more expensive as they cannot keep up with demand. And two things you don't screw with now-a-days is, the availability of electricity and cell phone connectivity.
