What's truly ironic and mind-boggling is that the guy who drew this was *NOT* going for satire.
Artist Jon McNaughton has earned attention in the Trump-era for his patriotic art depicting the administration and the American people.

McNaughton released another work on Tuesday, titled “Crossing The Swamp”.  The painting depicts members of the Trump administration crossing a DC swamp in a pose that mimics the famous “Washington Crossing The Delaware” painting.  According to the description on McNaughton’s website, the painting shows how Trump is defeating the swamp with “the light of truth, hope, and prosperity”.
Over 240 years ago George Washington crossed Valley Forge (Washington crossed Valley Forge??  That's news to me and my history books!) to bring an astonishing victory to the Continental Army.  This led to what many thought was impossible — to defeat a despot King and his formidable army.

Today, Trump endeavors to cross the “swamp” of Washington DC as he carries the light of truth, hope, and prosperity.  The murky water of the deep state is laced with dangerous vermin, perfectly willing to destroy American prosperity for their personal ideologies and financial gain.  The establishment Democrats, Never-Trumper-Republicans, Deep State, and Fake News Media will do all they can to stop the majority of the American people from succeeding.

As an artist, I paint what I feel needs to be said about the current state of our country.  I hope Trump is remembered as the President that restored America’s greatness.  I want to be on that boat for freedom!
One of Trump’s most well-known campaign chants in 2016 was “drain the swamp.”

The individuals featured in the painting include: Trump, Nikki Haley, James Mattis, Ben Carson, Jeff Sessions, Mike Pence, Melania Trump, Mike Pompeo, Sarah Sanders, Ivanka Trump, John Bolton, Kellyanne Conway and John Kelly.

I don't know, looks like those alligators are circling mighty close. Sarah Sanders better not lean too far over the edge of that boat or her lying lips and tongue stand to be snapped right off.

Great commentary on the piece (with other examples of this guy’s work) here: https://wokesloth.com/pro-trump-artist- ... stributor/

Of course, Washington never “crossed Valley Forge,” but what do Trumpanzees know about history? I also love that Ben Carson is rowing in the opposite direction.

Oh dear...

It would have been nice, if while mocking the ignoramus painter's glaring mistake, he hadn't made one of his own...

From Guin's link:
First of all, Washington didn’t “cross” Valley Forge, he crossed the Delaware River on his way to Valley Forge. These guys are all “we love the Founders” but can’t even name any of their greatest hits!
Uhh, no...

The painting is not a representation of Washington crossing the Delaware River "on his way to Valley Forge"...

It is a depiction of Washington crossing the Delaware from Pennsylvania on his way to launch an attack on Hessian forces camped near Trenton New Jersey on December 25th, 1776:
At about 11 p.m. on Christmas, Washington’s army commenced its crossing of the half-frozen river at three locations. The 2,400 soldiers led by Washington successfully braved the icy and freezing river and reached the New Jersey side of the Delaware just before dawn. The other two divisions, made up of some 3,000 men and crucial artillery, failed to reach the meeting point at the appointed time.

At approximately 8 a.m. on the morning of December 26, Washington’s remaining force, separated into two columns, reached the outskirts of Trenton and descended on the unsuspecting Hessians. Trenton’s 1,400 Hessian defenders were groggy from the previous evening’s festivities and underestimated the Patriot threat after months of decisive British victories throughout New York. Washington’s men quickly overwhelmed the Germans’ defenses, and by 9:30 a.m. the town was surrounded. Although several hundred Hessians escaped, nearly 1,000 were captured at the cost of only four American lives. However, because most of Washington’s army had failed to cross the Delaware, he was without adequate artillery or men and was forced to withdraw from the town.

The victory was not particularly significant from a strategic point of view, but news of Washington’s initiative raised the spirits of the American colonists, who previously feared that the Continental Army was incapable of victory.

Washington didn't encamp his Army at Valley Forge till nearly a year later, on Dec. 19th, 1777:
Valley Forge functioned as the third of eight military encampments for the Continental Army’s main body, commanded by General George Washington. In September 1777, British forces had captured the American capital of Philadelphia. After failing to retake the city, Washington led his 12,000-person army into winter quarters at Valley Forge, located approximately 18 miles (29 km) northwest of Philadelphia.[1][2] They remained there for six months, from December 19, 1777 to June 19, 1778.

Well, he was ultimately "on his way to Valley Forge," by way of several battles in New Jersey through 1777. :shrug Hooray for NJ history!

Also too, I'm rooting for the alligators.

Rudy didn't make the cut. That's supposed to be John Kelly.

So often those who oppose Trump are accused of Trump Derangement Syndrome, in that we fail to acknowledge if something is done right.

It looks as if his eventual choice, albeit 18 month late, for science advisor is a good one. Of course it will mean nothing if he does not listen to him. We shall see.
