If Trump can't see that Putin is a danger to this country, he's a tactical and strategic idiot. If he thinks he can partner with Russia against China, he's a fool. Russia has more in common with China than the United States. If he thinks he can make a deal with Putin he's a fool, they just lie. I hate to do this, but I have to let it out. If it wasn't for the other problems this country has, I'd be willing to dump Trump.

The thing is, though, he's not actually good at it. Everyone knows he's lying and just making shit up; he is completely transparent but also shameless. However, there is a sizeable percentage of the population that wants to believe the lies and bullshit and is willing to close their eyes to reality, and that's a much bigger problem than Trump.

And a second sizable group who will put up with the bullshit so they can get what they want--mostly lower taxes and keeping their privileged positions. Let's see how they like Trump's upcoming recession and stock market collapse; that's the usual legacy of most republican administrations, and pretty inevitable here. It will make the midterm elections interesting though.

I have totally quit the news, a serious habit I had for just about my whole life so I guess a small positive came out of this nightmare for me.

This morning though I turned on the BBC stream and just happened upon the joint presser between Merz and Zelenskyy about the new alliance between them.

Germany is turning on the military production machine full stop and giving arms to Ukraine that will allow it to send missiles into foreign (i.e., Russian) territory.

I am glad Ukraine has a true friend.

I am just pointing out that this moment is fraught, and we have the absolute worst human being possible sitting in the Oval in this moment.

I know you all know this, but it's just my daily reminder.

I think I'll just keep watching the BBC so I can know what is really going on in the world while the USA is obsessed with self annihilation.
