Different system wes...

Our Head Of Government is also our Head of State...

You don't see the Queen submitting to that sort of abuse...

Well, uhh, no, what we'd have to do is completely revamp our constitution and change our form of government...

to have a question and answer session periodically would require constitutional change?

To compel the President of The United States to appear in Congress to submit to questioning by the members?

Yes, absolutely that would require changing the Constitution...

Big Time separation of powers issues...

Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, two separate things...

Not the case under a Parliamentary system...

Congress is bound by congressional "laws" perhaps. State of the U? The president does not have to attend and could say 'no'. Congress is not required to invite the president to make a State of the U address and in fact no president has any right to speak there.

I read it on the off chance they would have something that would stick to Mr Brady and/or Belechick (being a Jet fan you can imagine my love for them). But once again I was disappointed. Not my idea of fun.
Oh well

Wes, for some reason you're just not getting it...

Your issues here seem to be basic Civics 101 stuff and frankly I don't have the time to teach the class...

For a guy who talks about wanting to support candidates who will "uphold the Constitution" it might be useful for you learn a little more about the document, and what's in it... ;)

well, it seems that you are saying that the president is not bound by the laws of this nation, which are created by congress. perhaps instead of being insulting you should come to class with me....

The exit polls are showing a BIG night for the Tories... :ok

316 seats, just 10 short of an out right majority...

40 more than the latest poll projections, and even more than the current 302 seats they have now...

Labor is on 239, Lib Dems Down to 10, SNP 58, UKIP 2, DUP 8, others 24
The exit polls if accurate imply :

Conservatives + Lib Dems = 326 - SUCCESS

Conservatives + DUP 8 seats = 324 -SUCCESS

Labour + Lib-Dems = 249 - FAIL

Labour + Lib-Dems + Plaid Cymru + Greens + SNP = 313 - FAIL

Therefore the Conservatives have won the 2015 General Election.

Exit Polls Accuracy:

2010 General Election exit poll vs actual outcome:

Conservative 307 / 307 (0)
Labour 255 / 258 (-3)
Lib Dems 59 / 57 (-2)
Others 29 / 28 (+1)
http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article50579.html

I wonder if my theory about unmotivated Labour voters not turning out will prove to have been a factor in the polling being so wrong...

Unless the exit polls are dramatically wrong, I expect that not only wont Two Sheds be PM, but that he's going to get boot as Party Leader pretty quickly...

Nobody can hold to leadership after a shellacking like this, especially in an election where everything indicated that you should have done much better...

probably biased media polls are the reason they were wrong. after all Russell brandt endorsed labor, what could be more motivating than that?

I remember commenting on some polling earlier that indicated that one out of five, 20%, of Labour voters preferred Cameron as Prime Minister over their own party leader...(While 98% of Conservatives preferred Cameron)

As I said at the time, when that many of your people would rather have the other guy in charge, there isn't a whole lot of motivation for them to turn out to vote...

And beyond that percentage, there has to be another fairly large group that were indifferent between the two, and I'll bet a lot of those folks didn't turn out either...

Seats required for a majority 323.
