Oh look, I'm being so hateful again by posting an article about Trump being on trial for fraud:

On a day when he seems poised for victories in Republican primaries across the country, Donald Trump suffered another legal setback in a ruling by a New York State appeals court that the state’s attorney general could move forward with a lawsuit seeking $40 million in damages against the businessman for allegedly defrauding students at his now defunct Trump University...

The ruling was especially inopportune for Trump given that, in the last few days, as Trump University has turned into a campaign issue, the Republican frontrunner had dismissed the New York attorney general’s lawsuit as essentially over. “That case has been largely won, although they’re appealing,” Trump said on “Meet the Press” Sunday about the Schneiderman lawsuit. “But that case has been largely won by me..."

Now, just as the Republican presidential battle heats up — Trump will be fighting legal battles over Trump University on three fronts. He is facing two class-action lawsuits over the school in federal court in San Diego, one of which, as Yahoo News first reported, is headed to trial — possibly as early as later this spring or summer — with Trump on the witness list. A spokesman for Schneiderman said that, based on the ruling today, the attorney general may seek to short-circuit a trial and ask a lower court judge to rule against Trump on summary judgment based on the record already before her...

Trump has claimed that 98 percent of the students who enrolled in the courses were satisfied. But in today’s ruling, the New York appellate judges cited evidence compiled by Schneiderman that the students, who paid up to $35,000 for the seminars and “mentoring,” received little for their money and that the claim that they would receive mentoring from Trump’s “handpicked experts” was misleading.

Part of me is still secretly hoping he is still a diehard Democrat and all of this is an elaborate prank on the paRty, that he plans to tank in a major way when it's too late for the paRty to coalesce around another candidate who is Clinton or Bernie worthy in the general.

Well, think about it: early on, he discarded the Hispanic vote; he never really tried for the African-American vote, and recently he has discarded them just about as explicitly as he can, by not disavowing the KKK; and all along he has disregarded and discarded the thoughtful and principled Republican party loyalists (I'm thinking of folks like Lord Jim here)....

So: how can he possibly think he can win without such a large swath of the electorate?

Still, I worry. Donald Trump is easily the most dangerous political candidate to come along in my lifetime, and I'm seriously considering asking for a Republican ballot in the Illinois primary in two weeks, just so I can vote for Kasich or Rubio as a protest against Trump. (ETA: ....or maybe not.)

Please Note: Trump did not win any state last nite in the Super Tuesday match. This is not a STATE contest. It is a DELEGATE contest. All selections prior to March 15 have been proportional. Each state has their own rules, but generally anybody with less than 20% gets none. So sorry Dr. Carson, but why are you still hanging around? So far Trump has taken the majority delegates from NO state, only a plurality. And these delegates are only required to vote for Trump on the first convention ballot. It takes a majority of all delegates to get the nomination.

Trump has spent very little of his own money. He has LOANED his own campaign a boatload of money. Big difference. Just try giving your spouse a loan on her next birthday. Trump can suck his loan money back out of the campaign as it rolls in bandwagon support. But he has also bought very little, as campaigns go. The big black money pit of politics is tv ads. Trump has exploited the reality of modern news--it is a division of ENTERTAINMENT companies. Trump is entertaining. He gets super free time with his outrageous performances. Not really much as an entertainment pro, but worlds better than any politician since perhaps Ronnie Raygun or Huey Long. That is the explanation for tv 'debates' that go on for two and a half hours of unintelligible shouting over each other with only token control from the 'moderator' It is entertainment, not voter information.

From here on out, the primaries are winner take all. For the Republicans, Trump really will be able to win the whole state delegation with only 35%, if the number two gets 34 or less. Trump out of the Repub convention and running as a third party? Perhaps, but to play in the party primaries of the Republicans, one had to sign a pledge to support whoever is nominated at the convention. Thus, a third party run by Trump would demonstrate the value of his promises, particularly in writing, signed and witnessed.

Yours for making this country great again, or maybe whole again because it is already great, or maybe we finally get just bread and circuses and royally screwed economically and socially.
