Seattle is poised to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. It will be interesting to see how this works out. Seattle is a very healthy economic city right now, with Boeing doing well, and Microsoft and its spinoffs and contractors humming along, and trade activity out of the port bustling. The proposal is a phase in, so at least a nod to the reality that the minimum wage can negatively impact employment. As opposed to many minor hikes in the MW both federally and across the states who have a higher rate, this one will impact about 25% of the workforce. Hope they go through with it, so we can see how it plays out.

San Francisco has about the highest minimum wage in the state, and about the lowest unemployment.
