Stimulus working? Economy recovering?

Post by Crackpot »

It appears I have an interview on monday. That's twice in two weeks I've got a cold call for local design positions.

That said traditionally design positions such as mine have been an early indicator of recovery (and recession) And the last month or so there have actually been a rather large (even by non recession standards) listing for design positions on the Michigan Talent Bank. could it be in six months to a year we will be well on our way to climbing our way out of this trough?
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I also say this now as a hedge against those who would say that the recovery has anything to do with those who were elected in the mid terms.

Oh god, "tea enema of the nose" at 7.00 am is not needed thanks Jim :ok

Congrats C-P, I hope whichever you choose works out well for you.

And if it doesn't work out, blame the MOTU.

Here's some advice....

Since the interview is Monday morning, I suggest that you party hard all weekend and go into the interview with a raging hangover...

Nothing impresses a prospective employer more than knowing he'll be getting an employee who can play with pain....

As you have been previously advised, learn from others' mistakes: Remember to wear pants!

Japanese Company, eh?

Remember to wear matching sox and bow low.

And, if a business card is presented, do NOT use it's edges to clean your nails.

A few deep breaths of nitous oxide before the interview will guaranteee a lasting impression.

Following my suggestions, how can you lose? :ok

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Don't forget your short sword, just in case you fail the interview .

The US economy grew at an annualised rate of 1.7% between April and June, up from a previous estimate of 1.6%, the US Commerce Department has said.

Despite the upward revision, it still marks a sharp slowdown from the rate of 3.7% recorded in the previous quarter.

The latest revision of second quarter growth factored in more consumer spending than previously thought.

The main point of the stimulus was to stop the economic freefall into a 2nd great depression brought on by Republican policies and when that is done, bring growth.

It succeeded as well as it deserved to; it was funded at too low a level so that while it did stop the collapse and bring modest growth the stimulus would have to have been larger to bring greater growth in this time frame.
