apparently 2 kids taken by mom in ann Arundel. sorry, I was worried and no more info was given after alert. my info from google

The goal of the alerts is that if there is wide broadcast in the nearby area/region it is far more likely that someone will see the child during the critical time to allow the authorities to rescue the child. If too much time passes, then the chances for finding the child go down, at least when the abduction is by a stranger.

yeah, I thought they were called Amber Alerts.
there was just a message that went across the screen during macneil- Lehrer news hour that said, a child abduction alert has been issued for all of MD until 10:39
there were no further details, so I would not have known what to look for if they had been across the street...
