if you are really disappointed in the direction NPR and mac neil-lehrer are headed, politically, you might be a centrist.
(yes, I know it s Iffel and woodruff now. I once considered gwen iffel to be the best anchor on tv. I think maybe Margaret warner is now, (maybe Jeffrey green) but I seldom watch the show any more. I still listen to NPR tho. I get enough NPR channels to allow me to skip around the propaganda.) (npr on the radio and fox on the tv)

Guin, I was hoping my post might shut it up since I don't really think I'm the obvious candidate. But (sigh) it was not to be. Too subtle I guess.
wesw - it's oldr. Not older. At least have the respect to spell the man's false name correctly! My daughter's name is Lara and even my own father-in-law spent 35 years before he died calling her (variously) "Laura", sometimes with "Lairer" and "Layra" tossed in. In that vein, I should ask whether it is correct to address you as wesw or wes? I'd hate to irritate you

It's all in good fun. While I am not the author of this thread, I would think it's ok to make fun of "rightists" too.

I know quite a few people who most would think to be rednecks and they make fun of themselves and have no resentment towards people making of them being rednecks.

There used to be a weekly paper Suffolk Life that wsa right slanted, but that folded due to illness of the guy runnin it.
I miss that paper. When the elections were coming up, they would send a 100-150 qustionaire to the candidates and then publish the results. One could take the questionaire for themselves and compare which candidate most likely matched your views/opinions. Wish some other papers would do that. We get nothing but talking points and sound bites. That's no way to pick who one wants to vote for and not everyone has the time to go to the candidates website and sort through all the stuff.
