A topic that's not going to win me any friends

Which is worse Bush Derangement Syndrome or Obama Derangement Syndrome?

At this point my vote is for ODS for the simple reason that despite the many issues to take issue with the Obama administration (secrecy, lack of access etc...) almost all of ODS manifests itself as the same old racist birthed nonsense. I mean say what you will but outside of the truther BS at least the vast majority of BDS had some basis in crap Bush actually did.

Thoughts? Comments? Counterpoints?

You mean like the way he planned the 9/11 attacks and deliberately lied about Iraq having WMD?

I said outside of the truther bit and he did "lie" (it wasn't true) about WMD. the deliberate part is highly questionable tho.

To lie, one has to know the assertion is false, so deliberate is part of the definition of a lie. It has been documented beyond doubt what the intel was, and that this was believed by everyone who saw it, from liberal to conservative, that Iraq had WMDs. However, the decision to act on that intel and to pursue the war as it was done is legitimate criticism. Always mystified me why people go to the BDS or ODS when there are so many legitimate criticisms of each.

People are pretty bad at thinking about complex subjects to actually figure out why their expectations are not being met. This provides an easy thought-free alternative.

Wasn't that the reason Bush was chosen by the Repubbies? He was so fucking dumb he would believe and parrot, verbatim, anything he was told, and could not therefore be accused of lying.

"Hey George, we have intelligence that Martians are in charge of Iran, go make an announcement quick"

"Sure thing Dick! Real Martians hey? Holy moley!!"

That and the fact that Dan Quayle was unavailable.
