YOU'RE A SEXIST!
Hillary Clinton 'Super Volunteers' Warn Reporters Not To Use These Sexist Words In Their Coverage

Journalists, you have been warned: The HRC Super Volunteers know what you said about Hillary Clinton. And if they don't like it, they're going to call you out.

The group, a collection of Clinton die-hards, have launched a campaign to combat media sexism as the former Secretary of State contemplates a 2016 presidential bid.

"Super volunteers, help us find journalists smearing Hillary. We must push back against their sexism," the group said Friday on Twitter.

The volunteers are not connected to Clinton's political operation. "We're not at all attached to the campaign, not at all," John West, one of the group's founders, told the Washington Examiner on Thursday. "All we are is a Facebook group of Democrats. We met in 2007 and stayed connected afterwards."

They're already putting some journalists covering Clinton on notice -- and the list of words they deem off-limits is extensive.

"A group called HRC Super Volunteers just warned me 'We will be watching, reading, listening and protesting coded sexism,'" tweeted Amy Chozick, a reporter for the New York Times, on Wednesday. "Sexist words, they say, include 'polarizing, calculating, disingenuous, insincere, ambitious, inevitable, entitled, over confident'...Also sexist, according to HRC Super Volunteers: 'Secretive' and 'will do anything to win, represents the past, out of touch...'"

The email, according to Chozick, warned, "You are on notice that we will be watching, reading, listening and protesting coded sexism."

The inaugural tweet from the HRC Super Volunteers delivered a dramatic warning:

HRC Super Volunteers @HRCSuperVols
Follow

We are HRC Super Volunteers,
We are Legion,
We do not allow sexism,
We do not forgive words like "polarizing" or "calculating"
Expect us.

(Presumably when Jeb Bush is described as "representing the past" or Ted Cruz is described as "polarizing" that would not be sexist....I've seen every single one of the words and phrases in that list applied to various male politicians for decades... )

What I'd like to ask Mr. West and the rest of this motley bunch, is whether or not they can think of a single negative characterization, (word or phrase) that one could use to express criticism of Hillary that would not in their view represent "sexism"...

I strongly suspect they don't believe there are any...

Forgive me if I conclude that this is nothing but a ham-handed and transparent attempt to discredit any criticism of Hillary as "sexist"...

What I don't like is when they go on and on about a female politician's hair, clothes and makeup instead of what comes out of her mouth. That is what they need to protect her from.

I read an article, and can't recall which source that compared Michelle Obama's clothes to Angela Merkel's. It really pisses me off that they do that to a very competent leader like Angela.

While I agree with you, a similar thing does happen to male politicians (albeit less often). Look at Christy; I can think of any number of reasons to dislike his politics (as well as his personality/temperament), his being overweight does not come into the mix at all. Yet he is called fat/obese/etc. in the press again and again. Al Sharpton was as frequently targeted for his hairstyle as his politics. I think that's all some people care about, although for the life of me I can't understand why.

Christy, who I don't like politically, I consider it something completely different. The fat shaming is just a subset of bullying.

If I were a serious female politician I would adopt a look such as the men wear, the dark suits with an occasional splash of color with the tie, and absolutely give the press noting to comment on. Except they would anyway of course, labeling the women "dowdy" or something similarly uncomplimentary.

Women, for all the gains, really have such high hurdles to get past. I do wonder if we will ever get the respect we are due.

BTW I absolutely loathe HRC. I have just never been able to look at her and not feel an absolute internal "ugh" sensation. It is not about her looks or her clothes or her hair, it is about what I see in her character. None the less I will defend her against the stupid remarks about those inconsequential characteristics: The clothes, the hair and her makeup none of which should matter.

One of them went so far as to wipe clean records after they were under subpoena, and if the other one had done that, he'd have served out his full term as President...

A rather striking difference for those whose minds are not poisoned by knee-jerk historical ignorance....

Liberals love a lawbreaker. Needless to say, Teflon Clinton will never suffer the consequences.
