Single issue parties

Post by Gob »

CISTA is the first pro-drug reform political party to contest a General Election across the United Kingdom.

CISTA (Cannabis is Safer than Alcohol)

CISTA is a new political party. In the General Election we will campaign for a Royal Commission to review the UK's drug laws relating to cannabis. CISTA is for harm reduction.

We are fielding 32 candidates from East Londonderry to the Vale of Glamorgan. We have 9 candidates in London, 8 in Scotland and 4 in Northern Ireland. We are campaigning to convene a Royal Commission to review the UK's drug laws. We believe that building an evidence-based case and working across political parties is the best way to achieve our goals. Do join us and support us.

Good idea, or waste of a vote?

Well, since UKIP won't lose any voters to them, I'd say it was a good idea.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

If I were living in the UK today, I would have a very strong inclination to vote for the UKIP...

But depending on what constituency I lived in, if I thought voting UKIP would help Labour go "first past the post" in my district, at the end of the day I'd probably vote Tory...

The Brits should modify their election system to have a second round of runoff elections between the two top vote recipients in constituencies where no candidate received a majority in the first round...

If that were the case, a right-leaning person like me, or a left-leaning Greenie type, (who might have the same concern that voting Green could result in the Conservative candidate going "first pass the post") would feel free to vote their strongest convictions in the first round...

A pro-drug reform party in Ireland? Sounds like a Pub franchise opportunity to me.

They need a better name though; CISTA sounds like either half of a rapper name "Cista Hood" or something you buy at the drugstore to clean your lower colon with.

Good idea. I actually like the name, which highlights marijuana's best aspect - it's so much safer than booze.

There is that. Whenever I stop working and retire I might try smoking pot again.

It was fun back in the day. Sex on pot was very nice. But then so was sex on LSD; and I won't do that again. Well, it was pretty interesting. We did tear the lining out of the roof of a VW bus on one trip, I mean journey. And my, by long since then, ex-girlfriend tried to give me the bus to settle an old debt and pointed out the hanging ceiling liner and smiled. Her feet were suspect in the tearing. Hmmmm. LSD is exhausting, you really don't want to try to do anything the next day. No I think that's out.
