I just watched a much longer clip of the video where the cop throws the young girl in the bathing suit down.
the cop was totally unreasonable and out of control, ordering peacefully assembled people to get out of the public space. he went after people first that were nowhere near him and were not interfering with him. after he assaulted the girl, who he went out of his way to go after, people tried to stop or distract him. then he drew his gun, while they backed off of him.
the cop was powermad.

That guy needs to be charged with assault and whatever Texas has for official oppression. Unfortunately, probably not enough there to make a "1983" action for civil rights violation.

Geezus, that guy's a one man police riot...
The other cops were trying to calm him down....
Frankly when you watch the whole video, it doesn't even look like it was that rowdy a party; the cop doesn't encounter any serious hostility until he throws that girl to the ground...
It's funny the way two people can look at the exact same thing see something different:
McKinney, Texas (CNN)Dueling narratives are emerging about whether race played a role in a Texas officer's handling of black teenagers at a pool party. But who those narratives come from may be surprising.
A black resident says race didn't play a role. A white resident says it did.
A 7-minute video shot by a witness captures much of the confrontation Friday. It shows McKinney police officer Eric Casebolt cursing at several black teenagers, pulling a 14-year-old bikini-clad girl to the ground and kneeling on her back.
Casebolt also unholsters his gun and chases teenage boys as they approached him while he is trying to keep the girl down.
White witness: It was racially motivated
Brandon Brooks, the 15-year-old white teen who shot the video, said there's no doubt race was a factor. He said the officer was targeting black teens at the scene.
"I was one of the only white people in the area when that was happening," Brandon told CNN affiliate KDAF. "You can see in part of the video where he tells us to sit down, and he kinda like skips over me and tells all my African-American friends to go sit down."
Brandon said the quarrel that drew police to the pool party didn't even involve most of the teens Casebolt was going after.
"It was a fight between a mom and girl, which had nothing to do with all the other kids," he told KDAF.
Brandon said he was unnerved to see his friend tackled and pressed to the ground.
"I think she was 'running her mouth,' and she has freedom of speech, and that was very uncalled for him to throw her to the ground," he said.
Black resident: This was not a racially motivated event
Benet Embry, a 43-year-old black resident, saw things differently.
mbry has lived at Craig Ranch, a planned community in McKinney, for eight years. He said it's a nice place. Racially diverse. People get along there.
He said when was at the community pool Friday, a crowd of teenagers showed up -- even though Craig Ranch's strict homeowners' association rules prohibit bringing more than two guests to the pool.
The teens huddled by the gate and shouted to let them in. Some jumped over the fence, Embry said. A security guard tried to get them to leave but was outnumbered, so the guard called police.
"Let me reiterate, the neighbors or the neighborhood did not call the police because this was an African-American party or whatever the situation is," he said. "This was not a racially motivated event -- at all. This whole thing is being blown completely out of proportion."
Embry did say he was disturbed to see the officer kneel on top of the bikini-clad girl and wave his gun and other teens.
"I may or may not agree with everything that the police officer did, but I do believe he was trying to establish order," he said.

Whether there was a racial motivation or not this guy clearly has some serious anger management and impulse control issues, and has no business serving as a police officer.

That is disgusting, and I agree with Jim, he has no business being a cop. Sadly, however, these are often the personalities attracted to police work--remember A Clockwork Orange?

Only now, it's no longer just a saying... it is an actual fact.
It's time for a paradigm shift in police culture. Local and regional law enforcement must find fast yet more viable solutions to demilitarize their departmental forces. Continued wild, wild, west tactics are only going to foment more trouble and discontent among the masses.
And to go all conspiratorial on your ass, these jackbooted police confrontations will be just enough to tip the scales for the disenfranchised to start looking towards domestic terrorism for their voice.
Violence begets violence, hate begets hate.

nah ray, this was one bad cop. I ve watched numerous interviews with black residents that were there, they agreed that the party was out of hand, they said it was just the one cop going nuts and that it wasn t a racist area or incident. but you go ahead and fan the flames....

if he had done that to my 14 yr old daughter, for being a smartass, i would ve ended up in jail. i probably would not be violent at this point in my life, but he would not have shut my mouth without violence.

That's what you get for waving teens.
Well, I got 12 months community service but you know...

Every week when I hear about another real and/or potential "death by cop(s)" I hear the same old rhetoric. In truth it's one bad cop after another bad cop -- and pretty soon you have more bad cops than you could ever imagine. Maybe not found in each and every police precinct but it's no stretch to sense a whole nation full of bad cops.
The root cause is 'cop culture' and the sooner it's addressed the better we'll all be. Until then too many cops -- bad or otherwise -- see the "Bill of Rights" as a mere suggestion of rights. No justice, no peace... it's a battle cry by an oppressed/repressed minority being totally ignored by those who should be listening the most. I may see things other don't but that does not make me crazy. Things are destined to get worse before they get better.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king, yet one eye will certainly be a good start.
