I read Art of the Deal when I was 17 and I blabbed to anyone who would listen what a horror show Trump would be - many of my then coworkers, friends & family thought I was overreacting. They don’t say much now, and I don’t say ‘I told you so’ because the whole shit show is just too horrifying that there’s no joy to be had even in that.

Me, from November 19, 2010, when Trump was making noise about running against Obama; (oh, and look what else! ):

Yeah, this is just another Trump scam. The guy is a relentless self-promoter and a weasel of the first order; why is he always referred to as "billionaire Donald Trump" rather than "failed casino operator Donald Trump" or "narrowly-avoided-personal-bankruptcy-through-legal-sleight-of-hand Donald Trump"?

On the other hand, if a billionaire who was actually qualified....3 term NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg....a serious, thoughtful, competent, and capable man....

Were to make the run, I'd give very serious consideration to supporting him.

I would also give serious consideration to Bloomberg. I wouldn't vote for him, but I would think the party that nominated him is probably not completely dominated by total idiots.

The Daily Show last nite (16 Dec 19) featured a devastating man-on-the-street episode with people waiting to see POTUS at his Hershey PA rally.

Near the end it concentrated on a man who said we must "read the transcript" and "I have not read the transcript' "We must do our own research and not be led like sheep" and "I have not done the research" H L Menken must be in the pantheon of demigods of political philosophy.
