Wes, I pointed out earlier that Trump's presence would have the one positive of bringing a much larger audience to the debate...

Thank you Donald. Now go away.

Donald makes these early "debates" interesting and fun to watch. If he wasn't there most people - me included - wouldn't be paying any attention to the candidates. It's too early.

Although I don't take Trump seriously, I understand why most air heads like him. I hear comments like, "I like him because he isn't a politician," and "Politicians never get anything done and they are owned by big money. Trump doesn't have to answer to anyone!"

He's the perfect candidate for brain dead voters and proof that zombies will eventually rule the world.

Follow his Twitter feed - it's impossible to look at without vomiting. Everything that is wrong with this country, contained in 142 characters or less.

But really, the republicans have only themselves to blame. Trump is the natural outcome of your worship of the almighty dollar and your continued sneering at education and intellect. You have wrought him upon yourselves, and, unfortunately, the rest of us, too.

That Ann Coulter is out there tweeting constant support for The Donald, and claiming a third party run by him would be better for Republicans than a Bush presidency is all you need to know

From Maureen Dowd today:
The novelist Walter Kirn tweeted post-debate: “Trump is simply channeling the bruised petty enraged narcissism that is the natural condition of Selfie Nation.”

After all, as James Gleick has tweeted, “Running for president is the new selfie.”

Well, I know what most people would like Donald to do with his selfie stick. ;)

That Maureen Dowd line is funny. OK, Guin? (It did seem a bit condescending and sneering but still funny)

Maureen Dowd is a class A bitch. She's a good writer and she is often spot on, but she is a total bitch.

And PS - look who keeps on bringing up HRC. #completelyobsessed #carefulweshrciscontrollingyou

oh, count on me riding Clinton s ass until the bitter end.

I think that she is the worst possible option for America and I will not let up until she loses.

she is controlling me. every ounce of my political being is compelled to oppose her and the DNC s wasserman-schultz

when did it become ok for you to call a woman a bitch?

remember what you called Dowd when someone says the same about Hillary.....

I don't believe I've ever said it's not ok to call a woman a bitch. But when that's the sum total of the comments about someone, it speaks more to the commentator than the woman.

I've had plenty to say about Maureen Dowd over the years. Even today I acknowledged her skills and abilities, oh, and I read her column regularly.

Instead of just "riding Hillary's tail" why don't you tell us what it is about her policies and plans that you find so appalling. I don't believe I've read that yet in any single one of the posts you've made about her. It's all been about personality. I'd much prefer to discuss actual issues.

well, guin, since I find her to be totally dishonest, and have seen that her views follow whatever poll is currently in favor, and since I don t believe a word that comes out of her mouth, her current policies are irrelevant to me....

...and that is her problem. no one believes her. she can t win honestly, there just aren t enough college kids and stupid people to form a majority. of course winning honestly is not her style, but still....

I ve been asking about how the ladies at the local library feel about her and it ain t pretty for her.

unless you guys can hack the voting computers, she loses

She was certainly spot on last week, when she was comparing Hillary Clinton to Tom Brady.... :ok

She hates Hillary, and I pay no attention to those columns. Here is a bit of how just blathering and hateful she has been (wait, I've got it, Maureen Dowd is wes! Oh no, never mind, she can actually write):
http://mediamatters.org/blog/2014/06/18 ... g-c/199752
For more than twenty years, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd has been attacking Hillary Clinton from a shallow well of insults, routinely portraying the former secretary of state and first lady as an unlikeable, power-hungry phony.

Media Matters analyzed 195 columns by Dowd since November 1993 containing significant mentions of Clinton for whether they included any of 16 negative tropes in five categories (listed in the below methodology). 72 percent (141 columns) were negative towards Clinton -- only 8 percent (15 columns) were positive. The remaining 20 percent (39 columns) were neutral.

For example, Dowd has repeatedly accused Clinton of being an enemy to or betraying feminism (35 columns, 18 percent of those studied), power-hungry (51 columns, 26 percent), unlikeable (9 columns, 5 percent), or phony (34 columns, 17 percent). She's also attacked the Clintons as a couple in 43 columns (22 percent), many of which included Dowd's ham-handed attempts at psychoanalysis.

oh, I think I hold my own around here, I do ok for an uneducated marshbilly....

... you can call a woman a "bitch" and/or a "cunt" with near impunity. However, call a woman "fat" and all bets are off. That thar is a fightin' word. Nuclear meltdown ensues.

It's very strange how people can select and chose OED words they interpret as being personally offensive. When our great nation is finally "Politically Correct" all will be well. The down side? The tongue will become a worthless body part. The sound of silence will be deafening. Obviously we will be getting exactly what we deserve.

PS. A word that bothers me is "slut." That's a word for a woman who doesn't have sex with the guy at the bar who bought her a drink. "How dare that slut turn away from my amazing studliness." I don't like the slut word and I don't want anyone to use it in here or anywhere else. You've been warned.
