Ejected from the Clown Car
First it was Rick "don't these glasses make me look smart" Perry.
Now it's Scotty "unionbuster" Walker. Presser called for 6PM (eastern) today. No money, little support, dropped like a stone in the polls. It's all over.

He had Carly's ability to lie with a straight face about his record. It is quite a talent the two of them share. He cut taxes, exploded the deficit, and pretended he didn't.
No sorry to see him go.

Jindal was running? Who knew?!

I believe Jindal was running essentially to show how effective a campaigner he could be as a VP pick for whoever eventually wins the Presidential nomination...
I don't think that worked out real well for him....

I like Pataki; but he's a qualified, knowledgable, thoughtful person...
Three big strikes against you this nominating cycle...
I had wanted him to run in 2012...he missed his best shot...

Re: Ejected from the Clown Car
I thought he did a middling to good job as gov. But he was away from politics for too long.
Re: Ejected from the Clown Car
In 2012 he had only been out of office for six years...
My thinking at the time was that he was a guy who as an obscure state senator was able to beat Mario Cuomo and then went on to be re-elected as Governor two more times as a Republican in a major blue state...
It looked to me like a fellow like that would have been very formidable against Obama...
I still believe that to be true.

Sure Jim, but Pataki had Howard Stern's endorsement for governor.
Actually, as republicans go he was fairly moderate, supporting pro choice positions, gay rights, and environmental causes. Not a Rockefeller, but nowhere near the darling of the Tea Party. He could have given Obama a run for his money.

Assuming the focused hatred of most of the party let him get that far.

Update: Huckabee is out.
Out of the race for the GOP nomination, that is.
What? What did you think I meant?

Re: Ejected from the Clown Car
The big GOP story coming out of Iowa is Rubio....
And Hillary has defeated Bernie by eight votes....
Hillary's greatest threat isn't Bernie Sanders...
It's James Comey....

Re: Ejected from the Clown Car
I have to say that The Donald actually showed some graciousness in defeat....
He didn't do what I expected, and shout "Hey Iowans! You Didn't Vote For Me, you buncha cornpone losers! Eat my helicopter dust..."
He didn't call the people of Iowa a bunch of loser scumbags for not giving him a victory...
That's an achievement for Trump....

Re: Ejected from the Clown Car
He finished just about 300 votes ahead of Marco to avoid third place...
So much for "The Aura Of Invincibility"...

I suspect that his lead in New Hampshire will now pop like a balloon...

Re: Ejected from the Clown Car
One hopes so. Rubio <spit?> seems the sanest choice at the top. Carson is surely done; he's an Emperor with Clean Clothes though - might be worth something. The remainder of the field - kaput, but some will pretend there's still a chance.
Bernie surely will be hammered in New Hampshire. Ms. Clintone's strength among the old, the rich and the Lexus Liberals cannot be discounted (and it's cost a lot so far). But Bernie has been given the credibility seal in Iowa and if he can get the young folks out to vote (and he didn't do that very well in Iowa compared to Obama)....
If it looks like being Cruz (or Trump), then I'm out on the stump for Sanders. He's more interesting than the others - we need a fun president.

Nate Silver says so.According to our latest polls-only forecast, Bernie Sanders has a 96% chance of winning the New Hampshire primary.
According to our latest polls-plus forecast, Bernie Sanders has an 89% chance of winning the New Hampshire primary.
GAH!
