Ben Carson knows why the pyramids were built.

To store grain, of course!!



He learned that from his uncle, who was an expert on the subject....

I think I found out how he came up with his theory....

It's based on geometrically compatible shapes...

Yeah, that's the only conceivable explanation I could come up with for his thinking of that theory. Of course, he would also have to be unaware that the Egyptian pyramids are mostly solid rather than mostly hollow; I'm not sure how he got through grammar school without learning that.

Still, I guess I have to concede that Carson knows a thing or two about pyramid schemes.

It just occurred to me that Carson must have misunderstood it when he learned that grains are at the bottom of the food pyramid.

His thought process all makes sense to me now.

Can you blame a black person for repeating the black history he was told. In black history the Egyptians were black, Cleopatra was black, Hannibal was black and the elevator was invented a black man named Otis. Well they are all wrong especially Otis. Okay, the part about Otis was mildly amusing, but your post has nothing to do with the subject of the thread. (Unless you're trying to work in some kind of joke about a grain elevator??...in which case the joke is stupid and incomprehensible.) The purpose of the pyramids (and the fact that they're not hollow) has nothing to do with "black history" and no black historian (regardless of his beliefs about the race of the Egyptians--or the race of Joseph and the Israelites, for that matter) has ever disputed what, you know, the actual ancient Egyptians wrote about the purpose of the pyramids.

Oh, lookee here...he's given us (well, most of us here, anyway) permission to ridicule him.

This points out what I see as one of the most significant differences between Trump and Carson:

Trump is a flim flam man, a con artist, a snake oil salesman. I don't for a moment think that he actually believes most of the loopy things he says; he says them to pander to the ignorant and fearful in order to get their votes. I'm virtually certain that Trump doesn't actually believe in the birther crap, or that the Mexicans will pay to build a wall along the US-Mexican border, or that Obama is about to sign some sort of executive order to confiscate the guns of law abiding citizens., etc.

Carson on the other other hand, I am convinced, honestly believes the loopy thing's he says. When he says that prisons turn people gay, or that the pyramids were built to store grain, or that the theory of evolution was created by Satan, etc., he believes it.

While being honest about what he believes probably makes him a better person then Trump, it doesn't make him any more qualified to be President. A sincere crackpot is not an improvement over a person who for the most part is doing an impersonation of a crackpot.

If you are fair person and I think you are, you will agree it is not fair to blame someone for something that is beyond their control. Would you ridicule someone because they are ugly, blind or retarded? The point is that Carson can’t help what he was taught as a child.

I have seen a junior high history book that showed an artist depiction of a supposed typical ancient Egyptian street scene. There was not one typical Egyptian face to be seen. They all looked black. I suspect that there are black kids all over the country that are being taught facts in history that never were.

Does it really matter what happened to Carson as a young person? What matters to me is that he overcame the disadvantages’ of his youth .

I am making some assumptions here; as far as I know, Dr. Carson might have been raised in a middle class neighborhood by white couple.

Did you watch the video? Carson stated that it was his 'own personal theory' that the pyramids were built to store grain.

I recall seeing a TV movie about him becoming a neurosurgeon years ago; at that time the story was (and I imagine he participated in the movie since his name was in the credits) that he came from a family where his mother worked hard to give him and his brother a good education and advantages she never had. I don't recall much of it (it was a pretty stupid movie), but I think his mom was a live in maid in a middle class area and the kids were treated pretty well; the only conflict I remember was once when he said he hated the pants she picked out rather than the jeans he wanted (and then he prayed for god to take away his anger).

Next up, (soon please God) Donald Trump will implode. Or he will get the nomination after riding the crazy train of the last dying gasp of the tea party adherents. If he is elected I might just emigrate.
