Maryland has made an anti pot commercial

the main theme is that "it s addictive", they even put those words on the screen.

it s been airing here , and is pretty funny to me.

kinda dishonest tho.

I can t even find a mention of it on the google, much less a video.

I m pretty sure that the state made the ad

Are you sure you didn't hallucinate it?

It may not be addictive in the drug/alcohol sense, but there are people in the rooms seeking help for their "addiction" to pot.

psychological dependence and physical addiction are two completely different animals who sometimes graze in the same grasslands...

what really bothers me is that the damned google seems to be jiggered (gerrymandered) (finger to the side of the nose, with a little scratch...)

Physical addiction goes away with abstinence. Psychological addiction (aka the mental obsession) is much harder to deal with.

well, stopping methadone almost killed me and kept me bedridden for a winter.

stopping smoking weed is slightly annoying for a week or so.

of course crack is different too, I m not sure if it s physical or psych. , prob. both.
on Fridays about the time you get your check and your stomach starts to turn and you immediately have to shit, just thinking about that first hit. it s really all about that first hit, you are just chasing rainbows after that.
then again after you aren t so bad on it anymore, you have three or four drinks and crack suddenly seems like a good idea, then you say no, but you switch to jim beam, then.... you say fuck it and you are headin' across the tracks....

alcoholism I haven t experienced personally, but some of my best friends are, or were, drunks.

...so I don t really know where to draw the line on physical or mental addictions, but I do know that stopping smoking weed is nothing more than a slight annoyance to a person.

in fact weed can help you stop smoking crack. you just stay so stoned for a month that you don t concentrate on the desire so much.

Maybe to you, to others it may be a bit more.

Typical propaganda scare piece of the time (mid 1930's).

It was a non-Hollywood production produced for the "road show circuit" aka: super low budget. I have a collection from that genre dealing with "loose morals", alcohol, and other "sins". They are a real laugh riot!

So far as I know, marijuana was never injected; nor can I think of any illicit narcotics that are injected intramuscularly as in the top drawing. :shrug
