While back here in this timeline, the reality is that Donald Trump spews more insults and attacks in one day in a single speech, than have been directed towards him by the entire rest of the GOP field combined, during the whole course of the campaign...

see what I mean? what does meade s little tirade, be it genuine or facetious, accomplish? very little if anything.

trump had to make a splash to stand a chance, he had to play hardball to stand a chance, and he did and he does.

now, he can sit back and be more diplomatic, as invective and insult like meade s insults more people and drives more people away from the candidates who are engaging in it.

trump is only insulting politicians, bureaucrats, the media, big business, and foreigners.

stuff like meade s insults the electorate, and it doesn t only insult racists, sexists, and simple people.

There's a saying about burning bridges, especially if you might need them to retreat across later.

If by some quirk of fate Dumbold J. Trump does become the next occupant of the Oval Office, he is going to need to have the support of at least three (and more likely four) of those five categories of people in order to accomplish anything at all.  He had better be careful just how far he alienates them.  Otherwise he will go down in history as the first POTUS ever who was a lame duck as soon as he was elected.

are bigots supporting trump? sure.

are most of them bigots? not even close, and when you call them a bigot you will not be likely to EVER get their vote, they will stay home or vote for Bernie first.
