Going To Be A Very Heavy News Saturday...

Post by Lord Jim »

The Democratic Caucuses in Nevada, the GOP Primary in South Carolina, and the Scalia funeral...

MSNBC might even have to cancel their usual Lockup Raw Saturday marathon...

Don't think my TV will be on much on saturday. I'll be doing something around the house for sure. Or doing something at my daughters house.
Give me a recap on monday will you Lord Jim?
Thanks

Tomorrow Lady Kelly is showing a house in the morning, and I'll be dropping The Warrior Princess off for one of her SAT prep sessions...

After I do that, I'll be dropping The Little Prince off at Little Sister's, to play with her kids (the three of them are all one year apart; her eldest is seven, her youngest is five and Jimmy is six...they hang together a lot)

Then Roman Craig and I will be going to an orientation for parents of kids that will be playing in a spring soccer league...(as I've said before, I think soccer is great exercise for little kids, so this doesn't bother me... 8-) ...his cousins played last year, and he really wants to be involved)

After that's done, We're going to swing by Little Sister's, (and give her a break) pick up the three munchkins, then pick up Tati and all go out for pizza...

This will bring us to about 2 in the afternoon, at which point Tati has plans to take off with her friends, and Lady Kelly and Little Sister will be taking the boys to a birthday party for another little relative of theirs...

My fatherly duties for the day having been thus duly discharged, I will then have a nice block of "me time" to indulge my news junkie addiction :ok

ETA:

Nickname Key for our recent arrivals:

Lady Kelly- my wife

The Warrior Princess - my daughter

The Little Prince (or The Lad)- my son

Little Sister- my sister-in-law

Roman Craig- my shifty brother-in-law (If you've ever seen The Great Outdoors, you'll get the reference)

The Queen Mum- my mother-in-law

I'm sure SAT scores still matter to many institutions of higher learning, however, my daughter's sister recently received her acceptance letter to the University of South Carolina -- with partial scholarship -- on the strength of her ACT writing score alone... no SAT scores necessary.

I mention this just in case The Warrior Princess' SATs are not up to the highest of standards. All would certainly not be lost.

ACT is important if all you care about is math...

SAT plus essay is what you need if you want to be something other than a tech nerd... :)

It's kind of cute the way your adult daughter is so completely dependent upon you...

Apparently she can't even change a fuse without calling on you for assistance... :?

(frankly, I suspect she's probably a lot more able than you think... 8-) )

would you like to continue to play this game? ;)

Just buy a Craftsman, wesw!! I've had one for over 20 years and it works as good as the day I bought it. There are plenty in your $700.00 or less price range.

Now back to the heavy news day. CNN says Hillary beat Bernie in Nevada...

Just barely...two weeks ago she was 20 points ahead...

I feel like such a pathetic loser because I pay attention to this stuff rather than spending my free time laying dry wall...

I'd be such a better and more responsible parent if I were a "shop" wiz and spent my free time in overalls running a wood lathe, making my own furniture... :P

Hey, you forget the time I bragged about installing a new paper towel rack in our kitchen:

One 'hangs' dry wall. It's a wall (or a ceiling). I was wondering how you'd go about laying it....

Frankly I wouldn't try to do anything with it...(It would probably fall on me and I'd wind up in the hospital...)

Look, I don't want to give the impression that I "look down my nose" at people who are good at "handyman" stuff...

I wish I was better at it; but I'm not...

I impress myself when I'm able to hang a picture on the wall without hitting my thumb...(more than a couple of times...)

I stand in awe of a person who can do something like "build a deck"...

On the other hand, I don't want people who have those skills looking down their noses at me either...

I'm lookin' at you oldr... :P

Not too sure how you managed to get to your advanced age without any handyman skills whatsoever, but I never want to see how you 'lay' drywall! :nana :nana :nana

Now excuse me while I got repair a toilet. Plumbing is my weakest area, but I do all my own repairs. I would encourage you to learn a bit Lord Jim!! :ok

Also, I can, and have, built a deck, I will be rebuilding a fence this summer, and doing some landscaping in my backyard. :ok

Jim knows how to do all his own home plumbing, electrical, decorating and building work.

That is why I encourage young people to go into the trades. There are always the helpless out there willing to pay someone to care for their home! :D
