Well, that shows yet again Old Darling, how poorly you understand American politics...
GWB is hugely popular in South Carolina, especially among Republicans, (in fact he now has a higher approval rating among all voters nationally than Obama) and in retrospect, Jeb probably would have done better yesterday if he'd had George out there campaigning for him earlier and more often...
Jeb is a better administrator than George, but George showed yet again this past Monday that he is a far better campaigner than Jeb...

Given the direction our Presidential selection process is currently is taking, (in both parties) that would probably create a better result...

This is the first time in this election cycle that someone has dropped out before they were driven all the way down to one percent in the polls, so there's actually a measurable amount of support to be distributed to other candidates...
Presumably the lion's share will go to Rubio, and some to Kasich. I think it goes without saying that after the torrent of juvenile smears and attacks that Trump made non-stop against Jeb, that Trump isn't likely to get a single Bush vote, and there's nothing about Cruz that would appeal to a Bush supporter...
Apparently Carson is going to stay in for a while, and that suits me just fine because every vote he gets is most likely one that isn't going to Ted Cruz...
Presumably Carson knows this, and I'm starting to wonder if that might be the reason he's staying in. Maybe he's so pissed off by what the Cruz camp pulled on him in Iowa, that staying in the race is his way of getting even....

What happens to all the money that was raised for a candidate if they drop out of the race before spending it all? Do they keep it/give it to the candidate they end up endorsing/donate it to the "help kristina pay off her back taxes fund" or does it just sit there until they decide to run for something else? I half-heard something about this on NPR, and from what I recall, the rules are a little fuzzy. (of course it could be my memory that's fuzzy)

After settling campaign debts:
According to the FEC, if a candidate does have money left over in their campaign war chest they can contribute the dollars to a charity, return the money to contributors, hold on to it for a future election, or donate it to their designated party.
In the 2004 presidential race, Senator John Kerry and incumbent President George W. Bush gave their leftover primary funds to the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee. However, there are some things candidates are prohibited from doing with their extra campaign cash flow including pocketing it for personal use or transferring all of it to an existing campaign.
“If you decide to give it to other campaigns you have to give within the applicable limits you can’t just say I love Jeb Bush or Donald Trump here is my money. If you give as part of a principal campaign committee you can only contribute $1,000 but if you convert the committee into a political action committee (PAC) you may be able to give $5,000 depending on how you make the conversion but you can’t just turn all your money over to a campaign,” said Gross.
So, Jeb Bush pulled the plug on his campaign, did he?
If I was running the universe, Florida would immediately create a law that FORCES Jeb Bush to keep paying for his brain dead campaign all the way to November even though he's got no chance of winning.

I don't know, it is all Monopoly money so shouldn't it all go to Trump?
