Repubs make good use of Christie

Even after his embrace of Trump (and his vacuous look behind him on Super Tuesday), the republicans have found a good use for Chris Christie. Basically, he has decided to name a new NJ Supreme Court nominee after agreeing publicly not to do so (and leave the vacancy open until he leaves office) as part of an accommodation/compromise with the dems a while back. His official position is that he is free to change his mind (and this may not play well in NJ), but a tip of the hat to whoever engineered this in the Repub leadership (and I doubt it was Christie or anyone around him--after all, he endorsed Trump), and can now use the NJ dems behavior to contrast with their position of the dems on an Obama nomination to the USSC.
Sure, the situations, laws, and even courts are very different, but that is hard to explain in a sound bite. And so the dems will end up with egg on their face whatever happens. It was a nice (in her sense of being effective, not that I endorse it) move by the repubs, and the engineer of it deserves credit.
