Looking at this purely from a logical standpoint, the US already buys more shit from China
(also a communist-run country) —
fully one-third of this nation's imports — than we do from any other nation on the face of the planet. I fail to see what irreparable harm is going to be caused by opening up trade relations with Cuba.

Fidel the prophet? Hardly, he never said it.
""In fact, an article published in the Havana Times in December 2014 noted that this alleged Fidel Castro quote is a common joke in Cuba:
"Washington and Havana only resume relations "the day that the US president is black and the Argentine Pope" reads a common joke these days on the island, put into the mouth of a fictional Fidel Castro 60s and nicely summarizes the changes that have taken place in the world since then and the great political upheaval happened now.""

Sorry! I got to searching for the quote as soon as I saw the Fidel meme. I didn't want anyone else forwarding it when I knew the attribution was probably false. Besides, the fine print always trips me up.

I almost missed that small print...
I had just posted about the Snopes article when I noticed it, and then deleted my post in order to avoid looking foolish...
(Lord knows I have enough unavoidable opportunities to look foolish without adding in avoidable ones...)
