Trump's Complete Unfitness May Finally Be Sinking In...

across the board...
If Donald Trump secures the Republican presidential nomination, he would start the general election campaign as the least-popular candidate to represent either party in modern times.

Three-quarters of women view him unfavorably. So do nearly two-thirds of independents, 80 percent of young adults, 85 percent of Hispanics and nearly half of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents.

Those findings, tallied from Washington Post-ABC News polling, fuel Trump’s overall 67 percent unfavorable rating — making Trump more disliked than any major-party nominee in the 32 years the survey has been tracking candidates.

Head-to-head matchups show Hillary Clinton, as well as her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders, leading Trump, often by double digits. Even his two remaining fellow GOP contenders this week backed away from earlier promises to support the eventual nominee.

And with each passing day, Trump makes moves that add further uncertainty to his ability to pivot to the general election. His defiant defense this week of his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who was charged with battery for yanking the arm of a female reporter, as well as Trump’s remarks Wednesday that women who get illegal abortions should be punished, might play well with his followers, but could further alienate the broader electorate.

And these numbers were gathered before Trump had his worst week of the campaign last week...

Those numbers are really staggeringly awful for Trump....

Not only is he way underwater with independents, moderates and white women, he's also underwater with conservatives, non-college whites and white men overall...

He's underwater with everybody...

In fact he's so far underwater, he's become the Jacques Cousteau of American politics...

I also found this one interesting:

Image

Trump says he can unify the party; it seems he's on his way to doing that...

And these unfavorable ratings are finally starting to be reflected in the GOP nomination polls. Trump is down nationally versus Cruz and Kasich, he's ten points behind Cruz in Wisconsin, in a statistical tie with Kasich in Pennsylvania, and another statistical tie with Cruz in California....(I really don't have a problem with Cruz winning states at this point, though I'm certainly no supporter of his. He needs 85% of the remaining delegates for a first ballot nomination; no way Jose is that going to happen.)

And all of these polls (except for the most recent in Wisconsin) were taken before this past week...

For the first time in months, I'm finally starting to feel that it's now more likely than not that a Trump nomination will be prevented. :ok (I'll feel even better if he goes down in flames next week in Wisconsin, which very much looks to be likely.)

If he doesn't get it on the first ballot, he doesn't get it period. And after that it's a whole new ballgame.

Well as the old adage goes "give him enough rope " ,I said it before and will say it again ,"there are going to be a lot of disappointed people if Trump becomes POTUS "
I am almost certain Hillary will get it,the one thing perhaps in Her favor is experience .I honestly think Trump started His campaign as a joke ,then got a few nibbles ,then became hopeful. ;)

  • ● Strike a woman.
    ● Cheat at cards.
    ● Rob the poorbox at church.
    ● Knowingly buy or sell stolen property.
    ● Listen to (c)rap music.
    ● Play cricket.
These are some things I would not do, Gob, not even at gunpoint.  "Vote for Trump" also falls into that category.

Even his supporters in the conservative media are admitting he is a constant source of idiocy. Was it Ingraham who likened him to the teenage kid a parent has to keep bailing out? When a guy like Trump can make people like Cruz and Clinton look normal and acceptable, it is only a matter of time before the Dandy Don/Willy Nelson start to sing . . . the only question is whether that happens before or after the Republican Convention.

There's an old saying in engineering: "Make something idiot proof and they'll build a better idiot."

Ladies and gentlemen I present the better idiot.

Actually it was Ann Coulter  :
Defending billionaire businessman Donald Trump is like constantly having to bail a teenage son from prison, author and political commentator Ann Coulter groused in a recent radio interview.

"I'm a little testy with our man right now. Our candidate is mental! Do you realize our candidate is mental?" Coulter said during a taping of an episode of the "Milo Yiannopoulos Show," which is scheduled to air in full this weekend. "It's like constantly having to bail out your 16-year-old son from prison."

Yiannopoulos and Coulter have spent most of the 2016 GOP primary enthusiastically defending Trump, and making the case for why he is the most qualified candidate to take on the Democratic front-runner in the fall.

However, Coulter is now unhappy with Trump over his late-night Twitter shenanigans, which have included attacks on journalists, businesses, television networks, heads of state and Heidi Cruz, the wife of Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

While the subject of the cartoon is the fuel of nightmares, Ray, I did get a giggle when I saw that the artist had Trumpty-Dumpty swearing on his own 'Bible' while taking the Oath of Office.

But don't worry.  This next Tuesday is the primary in Wisconsin, and I will finally get the chance to cast my vote.  Once Trump finds out that I am in opposition to him, he will fold up his tents and silently steal away back into the night — or to New Jersey (same difference).

Well after what recently took place here in Indiana with our abomination of a governor Pence, I have declared the Republican party dead to me. While being a mind your own business Libertarian at heat I remained a republican by registration. But the party as it existed most of my life is dead and buried and has somehow been over taken by members of ISIS who dress and speak like westerners. They will not be getting any more of my votes.

The complete screaming stupidity and Unfitness of the entire Republican platform is starting to sink in ....

This is after two elections where the VP was Sarah Palin and then Paul Ryan; Palin needs no explanation but Ryan was such a compulsive liar that he claimed to run a marathon in under 3 hours when he best was, over 4 hours. It's like forgetting which coast you live on.

If Trump can't win it on the 1st ballot, then as I've pointed out before, he's finished...

Cruz's best chance is on the 2nd ballot...

Then we'll find out if Cruz has developed enough establishment support that says " I don't like the guy, but at least we've stopped Trump...let's get out of here now and take our probable loss... we'll regroup in 2020"

As opposed to the "Cruz support" that was just a stalking horse to bring on a contested convention and abandoned him once Trump was no longer a factor...

Kasich's best shot is on the 3rd ballot...

At this point Trump has been defeated, and Cruz couldn't put together a majority delegate vote...

So, turning to the person who not only is the strongest general election candidate, but also the candidate who has avoided alienating the supporters of other GOP candidates, begins to make increasing sense...

And Kasich could win the nomination...

If it goes beyond the 3rd ballot...

At that point the delegates are saying, " Well, we tried to chose between the three candidates left standing after the primary process"... we did try to have a civilized process, but unfortunately that didn't work... so now it's "Katy Bar the door"...

Oh, if you thought our system "was nuts" before , wait till you see The First Time In Modern History There's An Open Convention... ...

It will make your head explode... 8-)

With the rules of 50 (actually 56) different delegations with completely different rules interacting...

Completely uncharted waters... :?

Short answer: the actual candidate selection happens at each party's convention (in late summer), at which each individual state (and territory) has a delegation that's roughly proportional to its population. The primaries and caucuses are scheduled on a state-by-state basis to choose each state's delegates to the convention.

The one thing you seem to keep missing is the extent to which all the individual states are separate from, and different from, each other. Face it, we're a REALLY LARGE (3rd largest both by area and by population), diverse, mixed-up conglomeration of miscellaneous smaller entities. You don't expect Ireland, Spain, Germany, Finland and Luxembourg all to do everything in the same way, at the same time, do you?
