Cruz, Sanders announced as winners in Wisconsin

**note: For the Republicans, each of Wisconsin's eight congressional districts are assigned three delegates (for a total of 24). The top vote-getter
in each district is allocated all three of the delegates
(so if Trump had won, let's say, in the 3rd District he would have gotten their 3 delegates out of it). In addition, there are 18 "delegates-at-large" which are bound to the presidential contender receiving the most votes statewide. Cruz is being shown as having won in all eight districts so he has added all 24 assigned delegates to his running total.
Cruz is also being shown as the leading vote-getter statewide with almost 50% of the popular vote (the rest being divided between Trump and Kasich) which means he pockets the 18 delegates-at-large as well; he clears the board and exits Wisconsin with another 42 delegates to his credit.
If Trump still intends to win this thing, maybe he should spend less time whining about how
Kasich is taking "his" votes and more time trying to figure out how to keep Cruz from corralling them.
NOTE — Update as of approximately 1:00 PM CDT on 4/6 to reflect final results:
Trump is now being shown as the winner in both the 3rd (SW Wisconsin) and 8th (NE Wisconsin/Green Bay/Door County area) Congressional districts — see map — so he has managed to save a little bit of face by scavenging a total of 6 delegates. Cruz is still the statewide winner overall with 531,129 votes/48.23% to Trump's total of 386,290/35.08% (with Kasich finishing a distant third with 155,200/14.09% of the vote) out of a total of just over 1.1 million votes cast.

Well, clearly Drumpf has learned a big lesson from this defeat. It's been a humbling experience for him, and he's decided to pivot to a more thoughtful, high-road oriented campaign:

Lyin’ Ted Cruz had the Governor of Wisconsin, many conservative talk radio show hosts, and the entire party apparatus behind him. Not only was he propelled by the anti-Trump Super PAC’s spending countless millions of dollars on false advertising against Mr. Trump, but he was illegally coordinating with his own Super PAC’s (which is illegal) who totally control him.
Ted Cruz is worse than a puppet—he is a Trojan horse, being used by the party bosses attempting to steal the nomination from Mr. Trump. We had total confidence that Mr. Trump will go on to win in New York, where he holds a substantial lead in all the polls, and beyond. Mr. Trump is the only candidate who can secure the delegates needed to win the Republican nomination and ultimately defeat Hillary Clinton, or whomever is the Democratic nominee, in order to Make America Great Again.

Given the venomous and self-pitying tone, the grammatical mistakes, and the overall sloppy way it was written, I don't think there's any question but that this "campaign statement" was penned by the candidate himself...
You stay classy Donald
Also, he keeps accusing Cruz of coordinating with his Super PAC, which as he points out (twice) in that sputtering riff, is illegal...
If he has any evidence of this, he should turn it over to the FEC. If not it's just another smear from the smear machine that is Lyin' Donald....

There are a lot of differences between the nomination races in both parties, but there's one element common to both of them...
There seems to be no inclination on the part of a huge swath of voters in both parties to start "closing ranks" and coalescing behind the front runner...

With his win, Cruz picks up 36 delegates: 18 from his statewide victory and another 18 with his win in six of the state's eight congressional districts. Trump won in the more rural 3rd and 8th congressional districts, giving him six delegates.
Overall, a 35 percent plurality of Republican primary voters said they were scared about a possible Trump presidency, and 17 percent said they would vote for a third party candidate if he were the nominee, while 10 percent would vote for Hillary Clinton if she is the Democratic nominee.

I saw those numbers...
An additional 8% said they would just stay home...
And bear in mind
that Wisconsin Primary exit polling also included sampling all those "new voters" that Drumpf keeps claiming are all coming into the process to vote for
him...
Yesterday he was on the tube confidently predicting "you're going to see a surprise in Wisconsin"...
And indeed we did...
He lost by more than anyone predicted and didn't pick up a single delegate...
