Here is how you ground Donald Trump's campaign

It seems the donald didn't bother to re-register his Cessna Citation Ten when it expired in January. It would have been very funny if someone else had stepped in and requested the expired "N" number which is the number on the side of the plane. Unregistered numbers are up for grabs. If that had happened, he'd have had to get a new registration number, and have it repainted it on the plane.

I can understand why they let the registration lapse. It's very expensive to register a plane every three years. You have to do it online and pay with plastic. It costs a whopping $5.

Apparently he used the same "N" number on a Boeing 727 he used to own. That plane is shown to have been exported. http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry ... rtxt=725DT

I've had people ask to buy the distinctive "N" number of my plane as it has four of the same number, followed by a letter. I keep it registered, in part, so no one can swoop in and steal the number.

I wonder if one has to have an airworthy craft in order to request/register/create an N-number, or if someone *could* have swooped in, re-registered The Dumb-old's number, and just squatted on it like people have done with internet domain names.
