yes, it was couched in the language of negative body imaging that would shame poor weak women, I know, but that is bullshit.

it was done because muslims were spray painting the images and now they are being allowed to impose their religious views on others.

Come on wes, Scooter's post which presented the mayor's reasoning makes a lot more sense than the unsupported statement you make about that being "bullshit". Even if some moslems were spray painting some of the ads (and there is no news report saying that was the case), the concern about negative body image is a recognized concern that has been raised in many countries.

I don't necessarily agree with what the mayor has proposed (anymore than I agreed with NYC mayors seeking to prevent large sodas from being sold), but I hardly see this as an attempt to impose a conservative and minority Islamic religious view on non moslems.

if I had a rainbow flag I d be flying it.

Best be flying an American flag today also (above it as per procedure). It is Flag Day after all.

If it was about "Sharia Law", the mayor would have wanted the woman in the picture to be put to death for not wearing a hijab.

We've lowered the flag so often lately to honor the victims of mass shootings and other national tragedies that one could be forgiven for thinking that the normal position is half-staff.

hey RR, i ve been meaning to get back to you but the garden and replacing the deck boards on the back porch have been keeping me busy...

you may be right , but there was at least one news story about it...., i didn t just make it up...

i heard about the spray painting from Stuart Varney on Fox or Fox Business . he said that he saw it for himself, but that you don t see THAT on network news....

i was able to find something similar about NYC and the Burka Boys painting painted ladies that appeared on transit ads....

if you recall, i have mentioned the difficulty of finding certain things on youtube and google, things that negatively effect the validity of the lefts positions and things that make HRC look bad. those things can be impossible to find.

i believe that the recent reported on the slanting of various social media outlets has verified my "wacky" theories to some extent.

...yeah, maybe i shoulda gone easy on the "bullshit" call..., but i did try to make him laugh too...
