Good food, good meat. Good God, let's... vote!
Amen, and pass the Vegemite.

Australian Election
Geez, another one? Already?
I wonder how long
this government will last before there's another election or the party that wins replaces the PM...
Six months? A year?
The Australians seem to have adopted the Italy of the 60s and 70s as their template for government stability...

You think we're bad? The Spanish return to the polls on Sunday for the country’s second general election in six months!

In theory, at that rate the United States could fit six or seven general elections into our presidential election process. This would surely heighten all of the election pride and excitement that we now enjoy. What a concept.
Vote early... and vote often.

It was last Sunday and they may have to go back to the polls for a third time because it does not appear that anyone is going to be able to cobble together a majority in the current parliament.

It's turning out to be quite a nail biter. Liberal/National 67, Labour 67, Other 5, with 11 seats TBD

I love how they call an election and then say, "we're only going to count one day, and then we'll take two days off before we finish."

So of the seats that have been declared, it's Labour 67, Coalition 65, NXT 1, Greens 1, Others 3. If the undecided seats break according to who is currently leading, it will be Labour 72, Coalition 72, NXT 2, Greens 1 and Others 3.
Looks like there's going to be a lot of kissing of NXT, Green and independent ass over the next few days.

It seems that the electorate being split almost down the middle is not just an American phenomena...
This vote in Australia, the Brexit vote, the elections in Spain, the Austrian Presidency vote...
This appear to be a situation currently common across Western democracies...
