Before he was elected President at the age of 43 in 1960, John F. Kennedy had been
● a decorated member of the U. S. Naval Reserve, achieving the rank of Lieutenant and winning (among other awards) the Navy and Marine Corps Medal
"for heroism in the rescue of three men following the ramming and sinking of his motor torpedo boat while attempting a torpedo attack on a Japanese destroyer in the Solomon Islands ... His courage, endurance, and excellent leadership contributed to the saving of several lives and was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."
● won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography for his book, "Profiles in Courage".
● served in both the US House of Representative and the US Senate.
● was second choice for the position of Vice-President on the 1956 Democratic ticket (losing out to Estes Kafauver) after Presidential nominee Adlai Stevenson declined to choose his own running mate and let the convention make the selection instead.
Trump, on the other hand, is presently 70 years of age and has
● been married and divorced twice, and is now on marriage #3 — to a woman 23 years his junior.
● ghost-written several books, none of which have even been nominated for Pulitzer prizes.
● declared bankruptcy *FOUR* times.
● has been continually the subject of allegations of scandalous dealings and business practices
● is probably best known for hosting a 'reality TV' series
● has changed political affiliations more often than a chameleon changes colors:
— in 1987 he was a Republican
— by 1999 he was an Independent
— in 2000 made a failed run for the Presidency as a Reform Party candidate
— by 2001 was calling himself a Democrat
— in 2009, returned to the Republican party
— and in 2011, was again claiming to be an independent with no party affiliation
— and now (since 2015) claims to again be a Republican ... the 3rd time in 30 years.
The facts are there, people.
