And the the establishment candidates are heavily favored to win all three:
In Arizona, with a recent poll showing Big John up by 26, it appears that Dr. Kelli Psych-Ward will be returning to well deserved obscurity, where she can cook up new crackpot theories...
In Florida, Marco Rubio, (who was originally not going to run for re-election, but who got in after a lot of pressure from Mitch McConnell and other GOP party leaders, as he has the best shot at saving the seat) is squaring off against a Florida state Trump-like candidate...
Marco's expected to win easily; the latest Mason/Dixon poll has him up by 39 points...
And like McCain, ( Who leads his likely Democratic challenger Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick by 13 points, 52-39) Rubio is well positioned to win the general election....
The RCP average has him running well ahead of Trump, and up by 5.7 points over his likely opponent, Rep. Patrick Murphy. (Marco might have had an easier time of it but the liberal firebrand Rep. Alan Grayson who was first favored to win the nomination has seen his support drop steeply since his ex-wife earlier this summer publicly accused him of decades of domestic abuse...apparently she had medical and police reports to back it up)
And anyone looking for an Eric Kantor-type upset in Florida's 23rd Congressional district is likely to be disappointed...
Pinocchio-Schultz is being challenged by a Sanders backed leftie, who's raised a respectable amount of money and run a serious campaign, but unlike Kantor, she has a strong record for staying in touch with her district...
Add to that the fact that Hillary crushed Sanders in that district in the Florida Democratic primary 68-31, and it looks like a pretty safe bet that Debs will be back...
Three High Profile Primaries Today...
Re: Three High Profile Primaries Today...
Thanks for posting as this was not very well covered even though you are right that these were high profile incumbents who easily dispatched "outside" challengers in the year of the outsider.
