What makes you feel this?RayThom wrote:I feel strongly that she gave up ambitions to be a two term POTUS when she lost to Obama in '08. She just wants to be the first woman president, and out in four years. I'm fairly sure she'll give Tim Kaine the nod to run in 2020.
McCain and Ginsberg are not running for the demanding job of POTUS. I predict both of them will leave their positions early with Ginsberg only holding on until Hillary is sworn in.BoSoxGal wrote:... She's not even 70, looking at an 8 year job. McCain's running for another 6 year term and he's 80... Look at Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Why on earth should Hillary not want to give herself 8 years to shape the country's history?
If you look at her record as a legislator while she was in the Senate, there's good reason to be hopeful that she will be more effective both at leading the Dems on The Hill (something that Obama has been absolutely abysmal at; he has been regularly rolled by Pelosi and Reid since literally day one of his Presidency...it was his lack of clout and respect from the Democratic Congressional leadership that caused the "Grand Bargain" on the budget that he had negociated with Boehner to fall apart...) and far better at reaching across the aisle to work out compromises...I think she might be far less obstructed than Obama
Agreed. If one can get up for a 360 degree view -- rather than being stuck in the weeds joining the right-side and even main stream media in pointing out her many problems -- the best estimate of how she would be as president is that she would be pragmatic and looking for sensible solutions that have at least a bit of bipartisan support. In many ways, she is the complete opposite of Obama:Lord Jim wrote: she will be a much better President for this country in these critical areas than President Dolittle
