No, not keep them in the dark and cover them with horseshit.
I just came home from watching the annual Kennett Square "Mushroom Pride Festival Parade" which kicks off a weekend of all things mushroom -- from tchotchkes to gourmet meals honoring the almighty fungi.
FYI -- politically, Kennett Township is running about 55% Repub/45% Dem although Chester County government is decidedly Republican as is all adjoining counties in the state.
OK, so between all the fire trucks, police vehicles, farm tractors, and classic cars hauling local and state politicos, there are the usual neighborhood groups and organizations marching by waving and tossing sugary treats at the wide-eyed children in the crowd.
Predictably, two of the organizations marching were the Kennett Area Democrats, and the Kennett / New Garden Republicans. As the Dems passed by, bearing posters with all candidates running in November with Hillary's face in the lead position, there was hardly a sound -- yes, a lot of waving and smiling -- but no clapping or whoots! to be heard. I was not surprised. A few minutes passed and then behind the John Deere manure spreader the Repubs appeared, some of the ambulatory members were walking but most of the old ones were riding on a small flatbed truck. In the middle of the truck riders stood a life-size, cardboard "standee" of Donald Trump with an old guy pointing his finger at, and fist-pumping next to, the Trump image. To my surprise, many in the crowd started booing and giving the "thumbs-down" as they rolled by.
I was left accepting this spontaneous behavior as being somewhat of a poll indicative of what to expect on November 8th. Hillary may not be able to garner positive approval or even likeability from the voters but Trump seems to easily create active negativity which I'm sure will translate into a vote for Clinton on Election Day.
One thing for sure if Trump wins, we will all lose -- and on a global level. Oh, and God bless America.
THE MUSHROOM THEORY POLL
THE MUSHROOM THEORY POLL

“In a world whose absurdity appears to be so impenetrable, we simply must reach a greater degree of understanding among us, a greater sincerity.”
Re: THE MUSHROOM THEORY POLL
There's not mushroom between them in the polls currently. If Trump wins, his supporters will eventually realize he is not such a fungi.

More like a toad's tool
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Think about the Donald as the beta test.
This op-ed from the NY Times is the first analysis that I have seen that gives me any confidence that the writer has a handle on what is actually going on.

I have watched my alma mater fall into academic mediocrity as it has found it necessary to run itself 'on a sound business basis' and focus on keeping the customer--the student--happy.
The piece linked above gives me the shakes as I wonder what will happen in the next election cycle with one or more major candidates who are more than con men,( as they say in Texas, are not all hat and no cattle.) who can actually run a business viciously and successfully--perhaps a younger version of Carl Icahn. People who do actually keep their focus on the bottom line and the stock holders can go pound sand because the only way they make money is by ceasing to be owners--selling the stock. That last point seems to be just fine with most people. That is the only reason I can see why the constant focus in business news is on the stock price.
This is only a trial run folks. Next time we will have a campaign by competent business people working to turn American into USA Inc.
snailgate.

I will return.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.
