So our SF "Voter Information Pamphlet & Sample Ballot" ...

Post by Lord Jim »

arrived in yesterday's mail...

This year's "pamphlet" runs to 313 pages...

In addition to all the national, state and local races, we Frisconians also get to vote on 25 (that's right, count 'em... TWENTY-FIVE) local ballot initiatives...

I believe that may be a record...

It's about a third longer than the California State "Official Voter Information Guide" which clocks in at a relatively modest 222 pages and 17 statewide ballot propositions...

So this makes for a combined 42 proposals to vote on, and a combined state/local voter guide page count of 535...

Now, 535 pages may sound like a lot, but it's all in how you look at it...

The first edition of War and Peace was 1238 pages, so compared to that it's less than half as long...

At least they give you information on the initiatives. Hopefully they explain what a Yes and No vote mean to the results of the initiative.
We had something on a ballot once that was so worded with double/triple/quadruple negatives that deteriming what a yes or no vote meant was not very easy.
