Trump's First 100 Days

I predict one of the first things he will do is grant himself a full and total presidential pardon of any wrongdoings of any kind whatsoever, thus shutting down the suits against him for civil fraud (for that so-called 'University' of his), the proven examples of where he stiffed his subcontractors, and of course the sexual predation claims that have been lodged against him.
Next he goes after his so-called 'enemies'. Who — besides Hillary, who gets her own special prosecutor — was it he said he was gonna have investigated, prosecuted, or thrown in jail?
Once he gets done with that, then maybe he can get down to the serious business of raising the prices of just about every bit of electronics (those tariffs on Chinese goods) sold in this country and driving the rest of the economy into the septic tank.
Then, after he gets rid of those pesky Muslim terrorists and undocumented aliens, he can choose the next religious or ethnic group he wants to persecute and pick on. Betcha five bucks it's either the Jews .... and America will get its own version of
Kristallnacht, or the blacks .... and the Klan will rise again.

Even if he could pardon himself, and I'm not certain he can, it would not affect the progress of any civil suits. It only removes any threat of criminal punishment.

And only for federal crimes.

Didn't the SC already decide (in the case of Bill Clinton) that a civil suit against the POTUS couldn't even be postponed until after he leaves office? I look forward to Herr Trump testifying *UNDER OATH* in the many suits he's currently embroiled in. (It might also be nice if the IRS found something in those tax returns that he doesn't want anyone to see...)

econo--I think he could be sued, but the courts could exercise discretion to have them held off until he leaves office if it would distract him too much. I would hope the courts would not do that--justice delayed is justice denied.

The more interesting question is whether the FBI and DOJ with a new director and AG go after Clinton. Based on reports, the rank and file FBI was upset about the decision to not pursue charges and, hence, the leaks. This would be a terrible political move, which is why Trump will probably go down this path, but Obama may spare us this by pardoning her for the email mess.

I've heard a few people talk about how Obama will pardon Hillary. How is he going to do that if she hasn't been convicted of a crime?

Not sure if that will happen or not. Look how much shit got dumped on Ford when he peremptorily pardoned Nixon.
Obama still has a legacy to worry about.

His legacy is that he is the first African American president, and most people like him as a person. Beyond that?

Doesn't matter as far as Presidential Pardon power is concerned Joe...the power has been established to be very sweeping...
Nixon wasn't even indicted, and he was Pardoned...Here's the relevant portion of the text of the Nixon Pardon:
Now, THEREFORE, I, GERALD R. FORD, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.

"has committed or
may have committed"
There's nothing to prevent Obama from issuing a similar Pardon for Clinton covering the time of her tenure as SOS , and frankly I think there's a strong case for it. The country really needs to be focused on going forward, not rehashing this.

That's how it is now. Wait until Trump and the Repugnantcans get done with their smear campaign against him as they go about dismantling as much of his administration's actions as possible.

I believe it is a good day when one can learn "something new". My problem is my CSR* condition, so even if I at one time learned it, I promptly forget it.

can't remember shit
What was the OT, again?

That makes every day a good day! You can learn something here today, then come back tomorrow and learn it again. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Beyond that? There is that little thing about Obamacare, and that Nobel Peace thing, and the longest economic recovery. . .
