That is a very bad attitude Wes; the cops could beat them today and then you tomorrow. It is best for everyone that the cops follow the law.

No trees were on fire here. There was an actual dumpster fire and a newspaper box was burned somehow. There real problems were the hooligans mixed in with the legitimate 1st Amendment people, and that the police did not prevent the protesters from taking over major thoroughfares and the I-5 freeway. That's right, these selfish protesters actually shut down the interstate two night in a row, creating serious safety hazards beyond the obvious traffic jams that prevented regular folks (most of whom voted against Trump, btw) from getting home.

yes, there are two types of protesters.

the idealistic naïve types and then there are the anarchist, George soros funded type.

...and you all are right, the cops should not beat the guy fawkes types....

just arrest them and charge them with whatever is appropriate.
