Christie replaced by Pence as head of Trump transition
WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald Trump on Friday replaced Gov. Chris Christie and two top advisers atop his transition team with Vice President-elect Mike Pence and others with ties to congressional Republicans.
Pence, who served in the U.S. House before winning the governorship, will serve as transition team chairman and Rick Dearborn, chief of staff to U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) will become executive director of the transition.
Dearborn will replace one of Christie's close advisers, Richard Bagger. Another one, Bill Palatucci. no longer will serve as general counsel. Both men now simply will advise the transition team.
"I am proud to have run the pre-election phase of the transition team along with a thoroughly professional and dedicated team of people," Christie said in a statement. [In other words, you were good enough to have the title for a non-existent operation when Trump didn't think that he'd win, but now that it's an actual job with real authority, not so much...]"I want to thank President-elect Trump for the opportunity to continue to help lead in this next phase and thank all of the pre-election leadership team for the outstanding work they have done."[thank you sir, may I have another...]
Christie, along with Sessions, Dr. Ben Carson, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will serve as vice chairs.

You wouldn't think a man of Christie's build would be so good at grabbing his ankles...he must be a lot more limber than he appears...
Don't worry Chris there's dry cleaning that needs to be picked up, and then maybe you can take Melania shoe shopping...

Politics is not pretty. The Round Mound of Resound will now go back to New Jersey and bide his remaining time basking in a less than 20% approval rating.
"Do you want fries with that?"

He's earned it, every bit of it.

So a guess a pardon is not in the future for Chris--maybe we can still see an indictment.

I strongly doubt there's any indictment in Christie's future...
The prosecutors already knew that the claim would be made at trial that he knew about the political nature of the lane closures, and if they didn't think that testimony alone was enough to back up an indictment before, I can't think of any reason they would now...they spent months investigating this...
No he'll probably land on his feet with some plum, important, top tier assignment...
Like Ambassador to UNESCO....

I think you are correct about the indictment, but I can hope.
As for a position for him, it would happen to be pretty low level as I am uncertain that he could withstand the Senate scrutiny. Maybe Trump could make him one of the people on the new Apprentice, or maybe develop a show for him along the lines of Punked where he does things just designed to annoy people.

It's funny Big RR, I know you've always disliked Christie, but at this point my disdain and loathing for him may be even deeper than yours...
I actually liked Christie, thought he could make good candidate and a decent President...
That all changed over-night when he decided to hermetically seal his lips to The Donald's ass...
When someone you felt favorably disposed towards and defended does something that completely destroys and betrays the confidence you had in them, it can engender stronger negative feelings then a person who never thought anything of the guy in the first place would have...
There's no humiliation too great to be heaped on him as far as I'm concerned...

I understand that, I always thought he was a jerk, so his ties to Trump didn't surprise me--he thought he was acting in his best interest, but he actually let you (or your view of him) down. But no humiliation of him would not be deserved IMHO.

Maybe not an indictment in his future, but very possibly impeachment:

Loretta Weinberg, NJ Senate Majority Leader, is not exactly a no-pull nobody who is making this demand. I would not be at all surprised if the last year of Christie's term becomes a living hell for him. At his subterranean approval ratings, there's no political downside to kicking the crap out of him until he leaves office, one way or the other.

Are you saying it is a felony to close a highway; protestors do it all the time? Do they face indictment?

Compared to what we ended up with, even
I would have been a good candidate and a decent President.

I think it would depend on the reason, don't you?
