just simple, opinion free reporting of actual happenings, in real time, and in depth investigative reporting, that shows the views of all involved parties....

Among existing international broadcast news organizations which two best meet your criteria and which two are the worst?
If you ever do read, which two print media are the worst/ best?

I read the wash post from my late teens til about 5 yrs ago.
it was a shadow of its former self.
they first pissed me off when they refused to cover the orioles for a period of years after some spat with the nationals about cable rights or some such nonsense.
....but I kept reading.
then the quality of the journalism fell to such a low level that it wasn t worth the price.
I tried the wash times for a while, but couldn t stomach the bullcrap there, tho there was some good journalism in between the anti climate change nonsense.
....then I got the Economist for a couple of years, which was good. they slanted things how they wanted to slant them, when they wanted to slant them, too, but the quality of the reporting was great in most cases.
their discussion board is ruled by commie bastards, but I was free to ignore it. that was the first discussion board I tried. then cartalk, now here. I am a one board kinda guy....
i don t read many journalistic publications now, tho i would take the Economist again (even if they were never trump)... holly got me an online subscription but i couldn t figure out how to get on as member and they limit your intake if you aren t a subscriber....
as far as tv news, i try to watch every thing, but if i had to name the two best, in my opinion....
was once the Mac Neil- Lehrer Report
but now...
....i would say, Fox Business Network and C-Span
the worst"....
....msnbc and CNN

Can't say as I remember you from CarTalk (Café d'Artè), at least not prior to 2002 or so when they shut down the Café and went more car-question oriented only. And I'm sure I would have.
Are you sure you don't mean Cyber SoapBox? -"BB"-

Wes didn't "migrate" here like some sort of water fowl...
You invited him and directed him here...
You deserve all the credit...

Broadcast--NPR and the BBC
Print--the NY Times (th only paper I read), but a few years back I would include the Washington Post and the Philadelphia Inquirer

I liked the boston globe when I lived in MA too. I didn t agree with everything but it was quality reporting and you got your money s worth out of it.
Gannet news papers suck, in general, and gannet is every freaking where.
the local rag went gannet years ago, but they started sucking before that.
if a paper won t last thru a sit down breakfast I have no use for it.

Yes, I gave wesw the key to Plan B. I remember when almost everyone thought he was me.
What if I am wesw?
Maybe I don't even realize it and I sometimes go into a trance and become him.
Nah... if I was wesw I would ramble on & on one line at a time and not use capitals or apostrophes. thank dog I don't...

Oh, I don't know...sometimes he seems EXACTLY like the Canada geese who have migrated into the local parks and then just stay around and shit all over so that it's hard to even take a walk in the park anymore.

Living within sixty miles of Rochester MN and its historic flock of giant Canada geese (Branta canadensis maxima) I can certainly relate to that. -"BB"-
